Mefliidist Choir Presents Cantata 1 his Sunday The Chancel Choir of th.* local United Methodist Church will present a Christmas Cantata this Sunday afternoon, at 4 o’clock in the Michigan Street Building. The Cantata, entitled "A Night of Miracles”, through choral and other musk al selections, recounts a night when a centuries old prophecy came miraculously true, a night when shepherds were awe stricken by a gloriously brilliant heavenly host that told of the birth of the Prince of Peace; a night when God sent his only begotten son to be born of a virgin for the redemption of a world of sinners. This is a story of Love which knows no bounds. It is limitless and absolute and it was first manifested on that wonderful night so long ago. The director of the Chancel Choir is Mrs. Evclvn Lawrence. Organ and piano accompanists W’ill be Mrs. Ruth McKesson and Mrs. Sharon Klinedinst. Narration by Dr. Max Hobbs. Soloists: Robert. Urbin. Fred Bullinger, Mrs. Sharon Klinedinst. Thomas Frame and Fred PHk. ’ Lighting and background will be handled by Curtis Sylvester and Mrs. Beatrice Scaholm. Other choir members are Mildred Smith. Curtis Sylvester is in charge of stage lighting, and Mrs. Alvin Boise is accompanist. Falcons Visit Culver Friday The John Glenn Falcoi ■*, sporting a 4-2 record following their double week end victory, will travel to Culver Friday ni-ht to visit the Indians. Game time Is set for 6:45 p.m. This will be the final action until after the holiday vacation.
JGHS To Present “The Magic Os Christmas” An evening of entertainment, mostly musical, entitled "The Magic of Christmas ' w ill be presented tor patrons, f lands and students oi the John Gk nn High Scnool in their gym Tuesuay, December 20, at 7:30 p.m. The High School Band, under the direction of George Robinson, and the chorus, under the direction of Mrs. Eleanor Robinson, will present the program. Added numbers will ue given under the direction of Curtis Sylvester, urania instructor, and Mis. Valerie Hite, physical education instructor. The general public is cordial-ly-invited to attend. Peterson cantata, The Wonder of Christmas’ this Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. The choir director, George Robin «>n. announced the Allowing soloists: soprano, Mrs. Janies Thoinburg; alto, Mrs. Richard Palmer; baritone. Robert Pulliam; tenor, Robert Varga. Ac- < ompamsl will be Mrs. William Carter and narration by Mrs. Robert Vargo. The public is invited. Shamrocks Face Two Opponents This Week End North Liberty’s Shamrocks will conclude action this week end until after the holiday vacation with two games, one at home and one away. On Friday night, Westville will visit for a game beginning at 6:30 p.m. This is the team that snapped a winning streak last year in a surprising upset on their floor. Saturday night the team will travel to Mentone for a 615 encounter with the host, squad. The early start is due to the time difference bet wren the two schools. Liberty Twp. HD Club Has Annual Christmas Party The Liberty Township Home Demonstration Club nu t at the home of Mrs. He-man Brinkhoff Doi inbi r 6th and went to St. Mary’s in the planned tour with several other St. Joseph County Clubs. They also went to the Hickory Farm Store and then to Rouch’s Eating House for lunch. Gifts Were exchanged afterwards. Mrs. John Harbaugh and Mrs. Brinkhoff were in charge of arrangem* mts. The next meeting will be January sth with Mrs. Harley Knowlton. PTA Plans Christinas Event The Walkerton PT A. annual Christmas Party will be held on Thursday, December 23, at 8:45 a.m. In the Elementary School building. To Present Cantata in North Liberty The Chancel Choir of .ne First Baptist Church. M: hawaka, will present the Christmas Cantata, "Light In The Darkness" for the congregation and friends of the First Baptist Church of North Libmty. The forty-voice choir will sing at the First Baptist Church, 407 Elm Street, North Liberty’ where Rev. Walter J. Claeys is the pastor, on Friday, December 16, at 8:00 p.m. The Cantata by the Chancel Choir will be the first event in the new church building for the First Baptist Church of North Liberty. Dr. Roy Hamman is the pastor and Rev. Phil Blyker is the music director of the First Baptist Church, Mishawaka.
