J - D DEATHS 3 □ Thoma* P. Etherington Thomas P. Etherington. 67. of Rt. 1. Pine Rd.. North Liberty, cied at 8 p.m. Friday in his homo of a heart attack. He was the manager of the DeAmicis Chrb. Mishawaka. Born on March 7. 1909, in Kokomo, he lad lived in North Liberty for the last 12 years, coming from Mishawaka. On June 24. 1934, in Logansport, he married Estalee E. Forgey, who survives. Also surviving are two sons. Richard M.. at home, and Stephen H., of Mishawaka; two grandchildren; a brother. Ora, of Logansport and three sisters, Mrs. Maude Kenworthy and Mrs. Allis Chalmers. both of Kokomo; and Mrs. Margaret McQuitty of Detroit. Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Patricks Catholic Church. Walkerton. Rev. Anthony Letko, pastor, officiated with interment in St Joseph Cemetery. Mishawaka. LKoy 11. Peterson Funeral services for Leßoy H. Peterson, 45. of 613’^ Roosevelt Rd.. Walkerton, who died at 3:30 p m. Wednesday in Hines Veteran Hospital. Hines. 111., were held rt 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Nusbium Funeral Home. Walkerton. Rev. Harold E. Williams. pastor (4 the United Methodist Church, t-fficiated. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. Mr. Peterson was born Feb. 16. 1921, in Stillwell. Ind. Survivors are three sons. Ervin John. Leßoy Jr., and David Lee. of Walkert »n; four brothers. Better Homes Club To Conduct Workshop Better Homes Demonstration Club will conduct their annual Christmas Workshop in conjunction with their Fine Arts and Crafts Association within their organization. The workshop will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. Monday night, Nov. 28, at the W’alkerton Community Building. The project will be to make glitter fruit, forming fruit from styrofoam egg balls, round balls or what have you. in the shape of fruit, covering them with stripes of correct color crepe* paper and dipping them in ghttar to make very realistic and durable fruit Centerpieces. Mrs. Richard Anderson Sr., is in charge this year and those wishing to have supplies available, will have to phone her your reservation and what fruit pieces you wish to make. A correction over last week involves the glue. It is imperative that members bring spray glue, available at the dime store, for this project, as well as Elmer’s glue. Also a darning needle, scissors, a pie tin or paper plate, and a piece of scrap stryrofoam that will be used to imbed your finished fruit so that they can dry, about 3” x 6’ is all right. Members are urged to bring in their gifts for Beatty Memorial Hospital and cookies in decorated card boxes or pound coffee cans. The date to work at the hospital is December 14 from 9:30 to 4 p.m. Only ten women can go this year the hospital states, as it has been too crowded in the past. Due to the fact that the chairman is in the hospital, please call the president. Mrs. John McGovern, phone 586-3601 if you can go. Women wrap and package Christmas requests for the patients. Rebekah News The members of Evening Star Rebekah Lodge No. 465 were hostesses on October 30th at a reception for Mrs. Ruth Clark, who was recently appointed District Deputy President of District Three by the Rebekah Assembly President. Mrs. Florence Jefferies. A social hour and refreshments were enjoyed by members of all the lodges in the district. Mrs. Clark received many lovely gifts from the lodges and from her friends in the district. The November meeting of the Rebekah Lodges of District Three was held on the seventeenth with Evening Star Rebekah lodge of Walkerton. The meeting was opened by District Deputy President, Mrs. Ruth Clark. Distinguished guests introduced were Miss Helen Brinkman, past president of the Rebekah Assembly, and Mrs. Alice Ullery, president, and Mrs. Vera Locke, past president of the Indiana Association of Patriarchs Militant. Mrs. Clark conducted the business of the District and the meeting was then turned over to the Noble Grand, Mrs. Leia Ruby, of Evening Star Rebekah, who presented Miss Helen Brinkman. She gave a very interesting and informative school of instruction. A recess was called and Evening Star Lodge served supper to those present. The evening meeting was opened by Noble Grand, Mrs. Ruby, who again introduced the District Deputy President, Mrs. Clark. She had the resolutions committee give their report, also the trophy committee, who reported that the trophy for the best attendance went to Naomi Rebekah Lodge of Elkhart, and the trophy for the most new members was presented to Helena Lodge, of South Bend. The meeting was closed and a short program was given. Miss Jeanne Fry gave several readings, and the members of Evening Star Lodge gave an amusing skit entitled, ‘’How Not To Do”. Coffee and cookies were serv-
ed before the guests left for their homes. The next district meeting will be held with Fidelity Rebekah Lodge of Mishawaka on February fifteenth. N.L Rainbows Hold Mystic Banquet More than thirty persons attended the Mystic Banquet of the Grand Cross of Color which wan held Tuesday. November 15, in the Masonic Temple in North Liberty. Hosting the event was the North Liberty Assembly No. 52, Order of Rainbow for Girls. Mrs. Marie Olson, mother advisor. welcomed the guests. A resume of the Grand Cross of Color was given by Mrs. Diana Hullingcr, Mistress of Ceremonies. Mrs. Hollinger was elected chairman, and Mrs. May Trobaugh secretary-treasurer for the 1967 banquet.
