Town Boaid News The Board of Trustees of the Town of Walkerton convened in regular sc n n Tuesday evening November 1 4. with full attendance of board responding to call. Minutes of the previous meeting were accepted. Claims were presented and following due consideration, were authorized payable from respective funds. Police activities report for the month of October was accepted and placed on file as follows: Traffic accidents, 3 pronerty damage Traffic arrests, six Traffic complaints, four Mise, complaints, 22 Traffic details, three Attempt to locate six Deliver messages, 12 Funeral details, eight Fire details, II Motor vehicles checked, 31 Business irregularities, 17 Lost and found articles, 14 Dog complaints, two Vandalism complaints, 15 Stolen bicycles and recovered 2 Disorderly conduct two Family complaints, seven Larceny from stores, tour Dirceny from homes, three Illness investigated, <nAttempted forgery investigated one Criminal arrests, four Juvenile arrests. six Special det til with other departments. seven Mdes traveled. 2513. Walkerton Civil Defense Unit, advised of matters pertaining to to the local department. Mr. Huhnke advise I that while tin unit still would be available for l '< al cmerycncies of any’ nature that tli. unit’s practice of assisting the 1 cal p Lee tone in patrol duties every F’iii..y evening, w >uld by neces ity be curtailed, due to uncertainty of asi jnment of manpower from their ranks every Friday night as done in the past years. Mr. Huhnke stated that presently only six of the membership were available for weekly assignments. He stressed that in event additional members again became available, the assignment of one member each Friday night would again be made to assist the hxal police department activities. No Parking Between Signs were authorized replaced on a limited daily time basis in a parking space at the side service entrance of a business establishment in the upper 400 block of Michigan Street. An equipment supply trailer located along the curbline of the 700 block of Van Buren Street and in-ing used by contractors in construction of the new bank buildin,.. was authorized moved off the street and into private parking area. The Board was advised that the hearing I.f. re the Indiana State Tax B ar l for the town’s proposed 1967 tax bud'et, was set for Wednesday afternoon. November 16th, at the South Bend Court House.
