Shamrock Defense Paces Win Over Rolling Prairie Saturday 20-0

North Liberty's S h a m rock s rode through their game with Rolling Prairie Saturday afternoon on the strength of their defense which over the past few years has contributed heavily to the success of the team. Saturday the defense scored two of the three touchdowns and set up the third with a fumble recovery as a 20-0 win was recorded over the Bull Dogs at the North Libertv field. N. They received the kickoff and sustained a drive from their own 20 yard line deep into Shamrock territory before giving up the ball. The Shamrocks then battled back from their own 13 to carry down field, carrying into the second period before they lost possession on the R< Hing Prairie 25. After two penalties and three plays, Steve Mlekodaj intercepted a third down pass on the 20 yard lin® and scampered this distance

As the second half started, the Shamrocks again sputtered on offense and were forced to punt to Rolling Prr’rie. The punt was fumbled and Gail Ross picked up the free ball and ran 30 yards into the end zone for the third and final touchdown of the game. Again Naragon kicked the point after and the score was increased to 20-0. Neither team seriously th’eatened from this point until late in the game win n the Bull Dogs had a do or die effort going to get on the scoreboard. The game ended with them having the ball < n the Shamrock nine yard line, but the final gun ended this drive.
