About the only people who listen to both sid of an argument are the nei ors.

o □ MARRIAGES □-—— — — □ Bierly - Affeld Marriage vows were exchanged by Miss Rita Joy Bierly and Dean Fred Affeld in a candlelight ceremony Friday evening at the United Methodist Church of Walkerton. Rev. Harold Williams officiated at the double ring ceremony, in the presence of the immediate families. The bride wore a cowl neck, silver milar dress, with full length matching coat. She carried a colonial bouquet of white mums surrounded by yellow mums. Mrs. Fred Samson of Bloomington. attended the bride as matron of honor. She wore a brown wool suit with matching accessories and carried a colonial bouquet of wllow mums encircled with gold mums. Ronald Biggs, of Valparaiso, served as best man. A reception followed the ceremony at the American Legion Hall, Walkerton. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Bierly, Walkerton, is a 1963 graduate of Walkerton High School and a 1966 graduate of Indiana University. The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Affeld, of Valparaiso, is a 1963 graduate of Valparaiso High School and attended Indiana Unitersity. After a honeymon trip to Florida, the couple will move to Suitland, Maryland, where the bride will be employed as a sociologist with the U. S. Bureau of Census, and the groom will continue his education. When opportunity dot's knock for some people, all they can produce is a bob-tailed flush.

Walkerton Lions To Meet Next Tuesday The WaiKerton Lions Club will have their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, October 25. at. the Walkerton Community Building. This is membership and development month and the program has been planned around this with the induction of several new members at this meeting. The dinm r will start the evening rolling at 7:00 p.m. sharp. All members are urged to call their calling committee member and cancel their reservation if they are unable to attend. After this month this will be standard procedure, you either cancel by Monday prior to the meeting, or you have a reservation that must be paid for. Each member has their yearbook with the calling committee member listed inside the cover. It Is up to each member of the club to help this club continue along their successful ways. Each year the Walkerton Lions Club spends hundreds of dollars in the local community, much of which is unknown to many people, but money that is well needed where it is spent. Do your part to help. DRIVE FOR UNICEF The United Methodist Youth Fellowship will have a drive for UNICEF on Sunday evening, Oct. 30, in the Walkerton and Koontz Lake area. Watch for more information in next week's paper.

FALL CONCERT TUESDAY NIGHT, OCTOBER 23 The annual Fall Concert presented by th.- John Glenn High School Music Department, will be held Tuesday evening, October 25, at 7:30 o'clock in the high schixil gym.
