Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sutton of Englewood Florida, were Friday luncheon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Fitzgerald. The Fitzgeralds spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Rensberger in South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Clell Fouts, Mr. and Mrs. Wilder Bumside and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Sheneman of North Liberty, were dinner guests on Labor Day of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert May at their cottage at Koontz Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Patrick and daughter, Tammy, recently returned from Denver, Coluradc, where they visited Mrs. Patrick s brother, Dennis Sheneman, formerly of North Liberty. Mrs. Eugene D. Gerber and children returned to their home in Pleasant Hill, California, on September Ist, after spending the summer with Mrs. Gerber's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hinz. Labor Day dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Burch were Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Ryan >f Rockford, Ill.; Mrs. Polly Poulson of Bremen; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ryan and children and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Urbin. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Delaney and children of West Lafayette spent from Friday to Monday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Knowlton and family. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Steinke, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Ullery and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Williams were Saturday evening guests. Mrs. Ernest Zahrn of Walkerton, and Mrs. Ray Brown of Crumstown, attended the wedding Saturday evening of Mrs. Zahm's granddaughter, Dianne Kreighbaum and Barclay Westerfeld of Indianap< is. Diane is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kreighbaum of Danville, Indiana, and former residents of Walkerton. Other relatives attending were Mrs. Glen Stillson and daughter, Cynthia Storey; Mr. and Mrs. Deloyce Cripe and daughters. Kathy and Kitty, and Mr. and Mrs. Gail Malstaff. Mrs. M innie Mikesell entertained 35 friends with a cooperative supper Sunday evening at Sheneman’s Grove n- ar North Liberty. Contests were played and winners were Mrs. Goldie Skinner, Mrs. Ed Pogodzinski of Walkerton: Gene Clark of North Liberty; and Donald Teter of Mishawaka. Old fashioned singing was also enjo^-d by the group. Miss Vicki Bulling : spent several days last week visiting her sister and family, M:. and Mrs. Donald McGrath in 'ort Wayne. Mi and Mis. Jesse Cleland and sons ot Livonia, Michigan, spent the Labor Day week end with his brother and family, Mr. and Mrs Oliver J. Downs. M. - and Mrs Ted Daube recently returmKl from a three-day sojourn to Nassau. They were in a group of II Funks Seed Corn salesmen and theii wives who earned the trip. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Knowlton and Richard returned Saturday from a two weeks vacation in Florida. While there, they visited her brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Lasiecki at St. Petersburg, and called on Dr. and Mrs. V B. Wolfe in Sebring. They also visited the Singing Tower at Lake Wah s. the Alligator Farms in Sarasota, and several other places of interest.
PLACES WELL IN STATE FAIR COMPETITION Mis. Richard Anderson Sr., placed in nine different categories at the Indiana State Fair List week and earned a total of S2B in cash and $7 worth of carpet warp. She went to Indianapolis Tuesday to pick up her entiles which were displayed at the fair. She entered 25 categories in open class competition. To place, .«hc earned top spot for honors given the top ten In the entire state of Indiana within that category. They are as follows: second for Christmas table cloth aod a second for rug weaving; a third for a leather entry of a purse and billfold and squaw boots;'another third for a corded crochet handbag; a fourth for a haiqhn lace cape stole; and an-
