men returning and they are out worktig out in preparation for Hie September 2 opening against Walkerton. The Shamrocks last year won nine ana tied one in a very successful season. With many boys returning, it looks to be another good year in football for the Shamrocks. AT WALKERTON, THE story is somewhat different. No longer is there a Walkerton High School to take the field, but John Glenn High School under the nickname of the Falcons. Al-

so in the complete change which has put Tyner and Walkerton's former high schools toget ler, is a new coach. Lou Kollias, who will have the job of puttirg a team together rrom a fe\, i .•- turning lettermen, a bun h of young boys with no experience an . the boys from Tyner who are going out for football, also with n> previous experience. They also arc getting ready for the opener against North Liberty, whim is i tough opener for anyone. AGAIN COMPARING THE two schools and seeing their disPkhcv-. North Liberty has built that tradition in football and have a bunch of boys who have tasted victory and want to continue in these winning ways. They also carry a good undefeated streak into the season to try and extend. Winning football lias become a tradition and this automatically adds spirit to a team. The school has picked this tradition up as well and school spirit has been high the past few years. AT JOHN GLENN SPIRIT and desire will have to be "builtin " the boys. Walkerton had not been succesful in their wrong-foot start in football. Playing wasn't easy under the conditions that existed and with the sport not solidly backed by the school for several years. Now they have come of age where football is definitely a part of the athletic program. The desire has been lagging and will have to be put in the boys that played previously in losing seasons. The new members of the team, especially the boys coming from the former Tyner School, can help immensely in the battle to put the spirit the: •. Spirit in the new school

shjuld easily outdo Ae old. REGARDLESS OF THE SEAson record when the schedule is completed, you can bet that both the John Glenn and North Liberty boys will be out to give it all they have this year under their respective coaching staffs. The old adage of how you play the game means a lot, even though the smell of victory is still very sweet. You, the fans of these schools, can help yourself by giving these boys your support and let them know .you are behind them all the way. Good luck to both schools ia the 19*16 football season.
