Mr. and Mrs. Warren Allen, Mr. and Mrs. Dwayne Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Allen, spent Saturday in Chicago as guests of Mr. and Mrs. William Allen Jr. Mrs. Opal Planck of Elmhurst, 111., spent a few days as guest of Mr. and Mrs. E. William Amick. Mrs. Marie Grish, Stevensville, Michigan, is spending two weeks as guest of Mrs. Edna Childress. Dennis Lipke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Lipke, is spending several weeks at Kodiak, Alaska. He just returned from a seal num there. Mr. and Mrs. William Cranmer, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. .Jack Wallace and Mr. and Mrs. Ora Klinedinst, attended the Camp Meeting of the United Missionary Church, south of Elkhart on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Al Holmquist entertained Mr. and Mrs. Paul Brown, of Worth, Illinois. Mr. and Mrs. Hal Muncie and two < hildren of Walkerton were guests of the Holmquists on Sunday. They all helped to celebrate Al's birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Ferrari and two children of Chicago, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ferrari on Saturday. Their son, Craig, who has been spending several weeks vacation with his grandparents, returned home with them. Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Quebbeman and two children, of Chicago. were guests of his mother, Mrs. Helen Quebbeman over the week end. Mrs. Loretto Boylan of Chicago was also a week end guest. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Steiger of Benton, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry L. Fries. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Scanlon and son, Tommy,"of Chicago, are spending several days as guests of Mrs. Scanlan's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Herbold. Mrs. Martha Wilde, and daughter Eleanor of Chicago, were Saturday guests of Mr. and Mrs.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hopman and daughter, Miss Margaret Keane, of Chicago, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Brown on Sunday. At a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Koontz Lake Lions Club, they voted the sum of $50.00 to Oregon-Davis Music Boosters. The Lions Club will hold an ice cream social, Sunday, on the grounds of the old Anderson Hotel, August 14, starting at 1:00 p.m. and everyone is invited to come and participate. The club received the deed to the land purchased west of state road 23 for their new playgrounds for the children of the lake area. Mrs. Lydia Judge, Chicago, was a week end guest of Mr. and Mrs. Albert *Bk>ck. 4 - NL Junior High To Practice Football Aug. 29 North Liberty Junior High football practice will begin on Monday, August 29. On that date, Bth grade boys only, will be issued their uniforms at 4:30 p.m. in the Elementary Gym. Seventh grade players will be issued uniforms on August 30, and Sth graders will practice at 3:30. Practices will be held at 3:30 for all squad members on Wednesday and Thursday, August 31, and September 1. All players must have had a physical examination by their family physician. Physical slips may be obtained at the elementary office, or from Mr. Dunnck. Each boy will be required to purchase injury insurance through the school to participate in interscholastic athletics this year. The price for the insurance premium is $1.25 per sport. Mouth pieces will be provided by the school through the courtesy of the North Liberty Football Boosters Club.
