Mrs. Steve Beach of Sandusky, Ohio, arrived Friday to spend a week with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hinz and Mrs. E. D. Gerber and children. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Benson and Rick, and Harold E. Williams of Columbus. Ohio, spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Agnew Ludwig and family. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Sullivan and family of Indianapolis, spent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Kennedy. Paul Sullivan, who spent last week here with his grandparents, returned home with them. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred V. Williams over the week end were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Williams and family of Beloit, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Williams of Washington, D. C., and A. E. Williams of Pensacola, Florida. They were all here to attend the wedding of A. E. Williams son. A. E. Williams Jr., to Kathleen Kmitta held in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in South Bend last Saturday. Mrs. Richard Laßere, 605 Monroe Street. Walkerton, was hostess for an afternoon yard party for her daughter. Mary Jane, who was celebrating her thrid birthday, on Tuesday, July 26. Adults and children numbering 25 enjoyed games and party favors before ice cream, jello and two birthday cakes were served. Prizes at games were won by Dennis Cripe and Shelia Engle. Mary Jane has a five year old brother, Jeffery, who helped hia mother plan the party.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Miller spent last Thursday and Friday with Rev. and Mrs. V. L. Garner in Rochester. Sunday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Agnew Ludwig t k their son. Mr. and Mrs. Wavne Burch spent the week end in Pentwater, Michigan, where her lister has a cottage. Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Hathaway. Mrs. Douglas Bake entertained with a birthday supper Monday evening for Mr. Baker. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Baker and children of Bremen; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Baker, Mrs. Jennie Gillette and Karen and Randy Johnson. Mr and Mrs. A. J. Mr. and Mrs. St aley Betz and family have just turned from a 21-day camping t ip into Canada and the Western fates. Leaving home, they entered Canada through International Calls, Minnesota; traveled tl nigh the beautiful Lake of th l .Voods area on to the Trans Co iian highway. They spent a k in Canada traveling and \ ng the National Parks off, Jasper, Kootenay and W; t- .n. At this point they entered t) states and visited Glacii r, Ye] -stone and Grand Teton Na’ il Parks. They drove home tn ugh the Black Hills and th. H dlands.

Miss Cindy Johnson, of Indian River City, Florida, is a guest of Margaret Mechling this week. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Richey and Gary returned last week from a ten day vacation in Daytona Beach. Florida, where they visited Mr. Richey’s mother, Mrs. May Richey, and brother, Joe.; also his sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Melton. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gorsline were Saturday afternoon and Sunday guests of the latter’s sister, Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Enfield in South Bend. Mrs. Cora Burch and Mrs. Harold Knowlton, spent last Friday with Mrs. Mildred Williams in Plymouth. Others present were Mrs. Robert Bell and daughter of Fullerton, California; Mrs. Jim Williams and daughters of LaPaz, and Miss Evelyn Harrell of Plymouth. Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Hockett and daughter, of LaPorte, are moving to Tallahassee, Florida, where Mr. Hockett will teach Art and Visual Education in the University of Florida. Mr. Hockett is the son of Mrs. Wilma Hockett, LaPorte, former residents of Walkerton. S 4 Edward Center Jr., son of Mrs. Hilda Center who has been stationed in Germany the past year, is spending a three week furlough with his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Center, and his in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Osborn Elkins, and his mother. He will return to Germany August 10. Mrs. Mary Hartsock Gordon has returned home from a month’s vacation in Kalispell. Montana and North Dakota, where she visited relatives. On the Fourth of July, she attended a family reuni, n of the Hartsock families with over 203 in attendance. Os the 20.3 attending, 107 were direct descendants of Mr. and Mrs. John Hartsock, parents of Mrs. Gordon. Relatives came from ten stat s. California, Oregon. Washington. Nebraska, North Dakota. Minnesota. Indiana, Colorado, rind Fl rida in additi in to Montana. Canada was also represented.

BAPTISMAL DINNER Mr. and Mrs. Richard Master, man entertained at a baptismal dinner honoring their son, Terry Dean, and Laura Kay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shultz, who were baptized Sunday at the United Methodist Church. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shultz of Houston, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. Rex Masterman of Elkhart; Mrs. Maxine Wood of South. Bend; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Masterman and Mr. and Mrs. James Keeling and family of Walkerton. Evening visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Heckaman and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Foeckler of Nappanee, and Mr. and Mrs. Amos Hunt.
