Voice of the People Because of the confu ion in the । minds of many people regarding blood donations, I wrote to the Central Blood Bank, Inc., in South Bend for clarification. The following except rrom the answ|*r by Mrs. Dorothy Anderson, executive secretary, is clear and concise: “Blood can be replaced in fourth Bend for LaPorte hospitals. We have a reciprocity agreement with the American Red Cross through the American Association of Blood Banks whereby we can draw blood as replacements for any American Red Cross or A ABB covered hospital or blood bank. For LaPorte, the credit goes to Chicago, then to Fort Wayne Regional Center

and then to LaPorte. There is ne charge for this service. Many times, however, there is ne charge whan blood is shipped, and this charge varies. Again,, there! Is no charge for flepljac^ ments when sent through the Clearing House System." ’ This holds truel not only for LaPorte, but for the entire United State*. Do not hesitate to give of yow life saving blood. Maki® it a regular habit. You, yourself may need it some day. John Zenon NO LEGION BASEBALL TEAM FOR WALKERTON For the first time in many years, Walkerton is not repre. sented by an American Legion baseball team this summer. Duo to conflicts with the boys now that a summer high school team is playing ball and other con. flicts, the team couldn’t find enough players after a strong effort was made to organize the team. The Legton again desired to sponsor the program, but the shortage of available played made it necessary to cancel the schedule that utas planned.
