1-Car Accident Takes Life Os Walkerton Man Phillip Orcutt. 22. of 116 Shamrock Street, Walkerton, was killed Monday morning in an accident or State Road 104 about one Bnile south of Stillwell. Th e onecar accident occurred at 8:18 as Orcutt v.'as on his way to work in Stillwell. Orcutt was mn thb nind on I<»4 In his American made sportscar, according to the skid marks, crossed the center of the road and -swerved back, causing the auto to skid before it .hit an embankment and crashed br adside into a tree. There were no witnesses to the accident. Orcutt was pronounced dead on Arrival at Holy Family hospital. lAPorte at 8:45 with injuries causing death being a crushed chest, fractured skull and internal injuries. Funeral services for Philip Orcutt, 22. of 116 Shamrock St., Walkerton, were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Illinois BL United Methodist Church. Walkerton. Rev. Harold Williams, pastor, officiated and burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. Mr. Orcutt was born Sept. 23. 1943 in I^aPorte. He is survived by his parents. Mr. and Mis. Mr. Orcutt was a 1961 graduate of Walkerton High School and served four years in the U.S. Army. He was employed by the Austenal Co. of LaPorte and the Farm Fertilizer Co.. He \ww bom Feb. 17. 1895 in Marshall county and had lived in Walkerton the past four years coming from Mt. Vernon, HI He was married Oct. 10. 1962, at Mt. Vernon, Hl., to Mary Alice Ra>h who survives with a son. Jack, of McCook. Neb : two daughters. Mrs. Gerald Artis of Opp. Ala., and Mrs. Gilbert Sulc»t of Waltonville, 11l ; ten grandchildren; one brother. Bert Tuttle of California. , Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Walkerton Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Benny Miller, pastor. officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn cemetery. The American Legion conducted military graveside services. He was a WWI veteran and a member of thf Orville Easterday Post 189, Walkerton The Nusbaum Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Harriet Campbe’l Mrs. Harriet Campbell. 92, of Denver, Colo., died there Monday after an extended illness. She was born on April 12. 1874,- in Walkerton. Her husband, WllMam P. Campbell, died in 1956. She is survived by three nephews and two nieces. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday. April 28. in Riverview Cemetery, with Rev’. Lewis. 83. of 607 Indiana St., Walkerton, died at 3 p.m. Monday in his home after a brief illirss He was the former owner of the recreation hall in Walk r’en. which he had operated for 3o years. Mr Lewis was born on June 2„ 1882 in Nekton. Kan, and had lived In Walkerton 44 years, coming from LaPorte County. On March 5, 1913 In LaPorte, he married the former Carrie Ijouise Sheaks. who survives Other survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Audrey Sobnos of North liberty, and Mrs. Pauline Carnes of Raleigh. N.C.; two stepdaughters, Mrs Faye Jones of Walkerton and Mis Hazel Foulks of Fort Wayne; 12 grandchildren and. 21 greatgrandchiUiren. Funeral services were held at 2 pm. Wednesday with Rev.
