showing of local models, wearing clothes made by themselves or by an adult member of their family, was an outstanding event for the town of Walkerton. The stage whs beautifully arranged as a garden entrance with rase trellises and palms as a backgr oind for the models. This area has many fine seamstresses which was shown in the many clm*er showinga of apparel ranging from infancy to the “Young in Heart" models. Mrs John McGovern. club president, greeted the audience and introduced the general chairman. Mrs Clyde Bick, and Mrs. Dorothy Hope, associated with the sponsoring shop, who wtas narrator for the show. Mrs. David Lawrence. Walkerton. played the piano for the entire show. Among costumes modeled were infantwear, sportswear. suits, night clothes, party dresses, evening gerwns and wraps, and mens shirts. The four coffee, punch and cookie tables were centered with cleverly decorated egg trees. Steve Trtnosky, a 4-H boy of Walkerton, entertained with an accord tan number. Door prizes were received by Mi's. Cheryl Lowry, Mrs. Art Neuhau.se, Mrs. Violet Ray, Miss Janet Wray, Mrs. Diane Morrison, Charles Minter, and Mrs. Walter Jackson, all of WaJkerUm, and Mrs. Harold Kitson Jr., of Syracuse. Mrs Bick 11 tanked the committees who served anti the merchants who donated gifts and loaned properties, and the high school personnel and hoys w’ho helped set up the stage. Friendship ( lass Celebrates 40th Anniversary The Friend hip Class of the North Liberty Methodist Church observed its Fortieth Anniversary in the home of Mrs. Fred Cullar, North Liberty, Saturday afternoon. April 16, at two o’clock. The class was organized forty years ago this month in the home of Mr-. Cullar under the pastorate of Rev and Mrs. W. C. Evers. Mrs. Russell Sheneman, president. presided during the program. Mrs. William Walsh gave appropriate devotions. Mm. Dola Hocker read the history of the class which, along vlth roll call was answered by a Fnend'diip class memory recalled, many hap-” py incidents of service and fellowship. Mrs. Gary Nelson, soloist, sang "My Task", "Christopher R^hfn is Saying His Prayers”, and "If You Know the Lord." S ie wai accompanied at the. piano by Mrs. Clem DeCoudres. Mrs. Alto Holmes read notes of regret from former m mbors unable to attend. Mr< Hrtcrt Lamer was in charge of the Memorial service. Mrs. Byron Haag of Plym >uth. peak r, summarized in detail the activities of the afternoon in her own entertaining vlay which was in story form and in rhyme.
