Jacob Hartman explained a proposed landscaping project to be undertaken by the P-L-J faculty as a memorial to Mrs, Dailey. The board approved the project that is to be started tins spring.
A North Central report was presented to the board concerning Walkerton High School. The high school, warn»*d last year by North Central for teacher assignments was accredited advised for this year. Accredited advised represents improvement for the < valuation. The Board decid, d the Noi'h Central Evaluation Committee that is to be in Walk-rton fm May 3 6, will be housed at the Holiday Inn at Plymou h. Mr. Baumgartner. Mr Whaley, Mr. Muncie and Mr. Hartman riported to the board concerning teacher as ignments for the 196667 school year. Th' board adopted the school calendar for the next school year. The new calendar will open sch >ol for teachers on August 31 and school will dismiss on May 29. Studt nts will report for a half day on September 3, with the first full day on Tuesday. Sept. 6. Gary Olinger, recent graduate of Indiana State University, was contracted to teach English for the remaining days of the current year. Mr. Olinger will replace Mrs. Mary Bitting who has resigned, effective April 1. Mrs. Bitting will m >ve to Pennsy:vania early in April. The board regretfully accepted the resignation of Mr H len Wright from an elementary teaching position. .Mrs Wright will retire from teaching following the current sch >1 y- ar.
