St. Pats Plan St. Patrick’s Day Celebration St. Patrick's famed corned beef ami cabbage dinner and cabaret dance was planned for Thursday, March 17, al the meeting last । week of the St. Patrick Women's Club. Mrs. Donald Wray, general chairman for the event, announced her committees as follows: Mrs. • Frank Kramer and Mrs. j lister Bieriy. preparing beef; Mrs. Richard Brice, slaw; Mrs. Harry Collins, potatoes; Mrs. Jerry Rains, decorations; Mrs Bernard Hudak and Mrs. Walling Rose, tables; Mrs. Erville Kaercher, kitchen; Mrs. Devon Hol- I Land, clean-up; Mrs. Hank Goris, coffee. , Tickets are available from any member or at the door. Ulrich Charles L. Ulrich, 82, of Rt. 2, New Road, North Liberty, died at 7:22 p.m. Wednesday in Osteopathic hospital, after an extended illness. He was a former Studebaker Corp, employee. He was bom July 22, 1883. in Tipton County, Indiana, and had lived in the North Liberty area 30 years, coming from South Bend. He married the former Stella M. Rust, March 25, 1916 in Tipton County. In addition to his widow, he is survivt d by two sons, Kenneth of South Bend, and James L. of Benton Harbor; three daughters. Mrs. Velma Bain, Coloma; Mrs. Mary Kocsis, South Bend, and Mrs. Arlene Rudynski, North Liberty; 11 grandchildren and 16 ' great-grandchildren. He was born on May 24. 1882. in Dobrin, Germany, residing in North Judson for 15 years where h«- was a barber. When he retire!, he moved to North Liberty. On August 21. 1906. in Chic ago he married Jessie M Davis, who died on Aug. 16. 1946. He Is survived by a daughter. Mrs. Bemiece Kennedy of North Liberty. and a granddaughter. Serve s were held at 2 p.m Sunday in the McCormick Funeral Home. North Judson. with Rev Paul Riker, pastor of the North Judson Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery, North Judson. Mrs. Marion Downs To Sing In Walkerton u i The United Methodist Church will present Mrs. Maron Downs, lyric soprano, in a concert of folk songs and spiritual^ in th. Illinois Street Building this coming Wednesday evening, March 16. at 8:00 p m. Mrs. Downs has won many honors for herself. She has the distinction of a Fullbright Grant from the U S. State Department and the recipient of an Atkinson Foundation Award for opera and folk studies. She has cone rt izod in Europe, Scandinavia. M xico. and across the United States. Mrs. Downs is a graduate of the Juillard School of Music: has her Masters in Music from Columbia University in New York City; has had graduate study at the Verdi Conservatory in Milan Italy. DeCoudres, chairman, North Liberty Dcvelopnv nt Association, announce another addition to the Wells Aluminum facilities Plant No. 2. North Liberty. Additional manufacturing space is to be erected of 8.000 square feet to house, anodizing facilities. The new a Mition will have a line of ten tanks, twenty-six feet in length. Anodizing is an electrechemical means of budding an aluminum oxide film on alum! num. which enhances the appear ani\> and weather resistance of the versatile metal. The new operation being constructed will help Wells further diversify into aluminum fabrication. The company is presently engaged in produong and fabri eating extruded alumumm and offers complete engine-' ing services.
