A smile can convey understanding, happiness, forgiveness, and thankfulness. It can virtually brighten a whole world. Smiling is contagious. Try it, next time you meet a stranger, do business with a client, buy something, sell something, or When you are walking down the street by yourself. Smile and you feel happy; ths world seems happier everywhere you look, everyInhere you roam. If you really wish to make your day complete, add something more than a smile. Make it your business to offer a kind word to •veryone you meet in the course ♦f your day. Your day will become progressively brighter and •»ore pleasant If you can smile in the face of adversity, your troubles will not disappear, but you will most likely tome to the realization that things •re not as hopeless as they seem. And, one thing Is certain — U tou am smile, you’re still in the fame.

“But he gives more grace* therefore it says, ‘God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.' ” — James 51:6 ■ How often it happens that those individuals history chooses to record in some manner of greatness are endowed with sufficient grace to keep pride fropi overpowering all sense of humility. It is often difficult for the most average citizen to keep pride under control and to gracefully accept a defeat or a temporary setback. Every individual desires recognition. No one likes to be “second-best”. Yet, we are never stronger as an individual than during the moment when we supplant false pride with realistic humility. tMMlyi'ir MIU Mir end • •O TO CHURCH •UNBAY
ATTEND HAVEN HUBBARD OPEN HOUSE SATURDAY Thirty-one parsons from Walkerton EUB Church attended the open house at Haven Hubbard Memorial Home near New Carlisle, Indiana, Saturday. Mary' Jane Beaty, Dorothy Knowlton and Mildred McKesson served as guides through parts of the now addition during the day. In the afternoon, Bishop R. H.
