Indiana Minimum Wage Law

Indiana's first minimum wago law goes into effect today, Ju.y 1. Many people still are not aware of the law. This law, passed by the last state legis ature, provides that al’ employees their employees JI.OO ]M>r h nir, covered by the law must pay to less an amount set by the *»ag ‘ Adjustment Board to compensate for an amount received as tips, meals, uniforms, lodging and impairment due to age, mental or physical handicaps. Some other exemptions irom the law are employers who have aree or less employees, employ-* ees who are under 18 years of age, domestic servants, commission salesmen, farm laborers and a few others. A schedule of the uxemptions has tentatively been made with about everything now covered. However, the Board will ho d a series of eight hearings next month to make further refine-
