Meltinos - Smith Miss Syh :i Ann Mcdtinos, of Hanna, became the bride of Dennis Francis Smith, at 11 o'clock Saturday morning in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, LaPorte. Rev. Anthony Fleicko. C.S.C., celebrated the high nuptial mass. Baskets of white mums and gladioli decorated the altar. Mrs. James Shamo, organist, assisted by the choir, furnishel the music. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jam u Meltinos, Hanna. The bridegrot m is the son of Judge and Mrs Alban M. Smith, 208 Woodlawn Avenue, LaPorte. Escorted to the altar by her father, the brido wore an exquisite original gown by Edith, of Alfred Angelo. Fashion ad of silk organza over peau de - >ie, the fitted bodiq® featured a Sabrina neckline and long sleeve coining to a point over tibe wrist Re-esdbrnidered Chantilly lace at the neck and sleeves was accented with pearls and crystals. A sheath skirt with bouffant overskirt was highlighted by silk .organs tiers edged with the Jape, which fell into"a cathedral train from a cluster of self 4 material roses. Her veil of English illusion fell from a double crown of seed pearls and crystals. She carried a cluster of lilies-of-the-valky and white roses arranged with white ribbons on a white lace fan. Tommy Thanas, a cousin of the bride, carried the train during the ceremony. Miss Kay Duer, of Denver, Colorado, a college friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Sophie Petropolis, of Joliet. 111., a cousin of the bride; Miss Mary Kathleen Smith, a sister of the groom; and Miss Patricia Meltinos, sister of the bride. They wore floor length dresses of yellow linen designed with A-line skirts, and fitted bodices of matching cotton lace with scoop neckline and Dior sleeves. and white daisies. Attending the groom were his four brothers, Terrance as best man; Patrick, Michael and Allen,’ ushers. The bride's mother wore a floor length sheath of mossgreen georgette crepe over taffeta, fashioned with an elbow length sleeved empire bodice. Her hat was of green laco in ruffled tiers. The groom's mother wore a twopiece beige dress with matching flower hat and shoes. They wore corsages of white cymbidium orchids. Following the ceremony, the Mcdtinoa honored the couple with a breakfast in the Rumley Hotel dining room where places were set for 150 relatives and friends at tables decorated with maidenhair fem and daisies. The brides table wm centered with a basket of daisies and silver eandelabra, holding wfcite candles. The sake liable was covered with a white cloth, centered with a five-tiered elaborately embossed wedding cake, surrounded by a floral arrangement of fern and daisies MiC Richard Kline,’ of Culver, presided at the cake table. In the evening, a reception was held at the Saxon Club, Gary, for 500 guests. Tommy Thanas and Matthew Harkis were in charge of the guest book. Dinner was served at tables decorated with am 11 ax and plaques of daisies and koufetas, or favors, of white plastic swans filled with Jordan almonds and a message from the bride and groom. Dancing followed with a five-piece orchestra playing during the evening. A Greek wedding dance was a feature of the entertainment. The brid® was graduated from Walkerton High School and received her A.B. degree from Han^ over College where she was affiliated with Alpha Delta Pi. national social sorority. She received her Masters Degree in Social Studies from Indiana University. She has a junior standing in the Indiana University School of Law. The groom received hia A.B. degree from the University of Notre Dame, and his Masters degree from Holy Cross College, Washington, D. C., and his law degree from Indiana University School of Law. He is associated with the law firm of Smith and Smith, in LaPorte. Following their honeymoon, Mr. and Mrs. Smith will make their home in LaPorte, corner Ferry and Jefferson Streets. fi-CENT international COOPERATION YEAR UNITED NATIONS STAMP The 5-cent stamp commemorating the 20th anniversary of the United Nations, which has been designated International Cooperation Year, will be first placed on sale through the San Francisco, California, Post Office on June 26, IMS.
