TOWNS PLAN MEMORIAL DAY SERVICES
North Liberty Parade Begins At 11 a.m. The North Liberty Memorial Day parade will start assembling at 10:30 Monday, May 31. on the school grounds and will start at 11:00 promptly. The parade will go from the school to the cemetery on road 4. Rev Miller will give the address. This is sponsored by the Veteran of Foreign Wars and the American Legion Post 365. Anyone may participate, including the Boy and Girt Scouts. Walkerton Plans Schedule For Summer Program The 1965 Summer Recreation Program for Walkerton has the following shedule planned: 9:00-10:30: All little league boys of all ages. Fundamentals will be taught. 10:30-12:00: Boys 7-12 for all games. 1:00-2:30: Girls 7 and up for all games. 2:30-4:00: Boys 12 and up. Events covered during summer: Baseball SoftbaU , . . 16" softball Tetherball Kickball Volleyball Swimming Physical Fitness Home Run Derby 16” Softball Derby Basketbail Relays Gymnastics Tumbling Baseball leagues Program will start June 1. Walkerton Alumni Preparing For J Annual Banquet The Walkerton Alumni Association is now In full swing preparing for our banquet. We have Mrs Jean Code, table decorations, and Mrs. Eudora Stlllson table setting, added to our list of committees. J The banquet will be held Saturday, June 5, at 7:00 pm in the Walkerton High School We will have as our honored guests, 57 of the 59 from the giaduating class. We hope everyone has received their invitation. If you have not received yours, please contact Jadk Rizek. We are extending our due date for money and reservations until Saturday. Maj’ 29. So far we are having] good reaponse fn having reservations and money turned In. The Sting Rays will provide music for everyone to dance to. This year refreshments will be sold and tables will be provided for any size party. VOLUNTEER HELP WANTED The men from Michigan City prison are again working to help clear farmers fields and also at Koontz Lake. Volunteer help from 9:00 a m. to 1:00 p.m. to prepare their noon meal at the Koontz Lake Conservation Club house, will be greaty appreciated: also donations of cake, cookies, canned fruit, few dozen eggs. etc. Please call Elizabeth Michalski. The class of 1915, the honored 50 year class at the 1965 North Liberty Alumni Banquet this Satuiday night, is pictured here as they graduated in 1915. POST OFFICES TO CLOSE The Walkerton and North Liberty Post Offices will be closed Monday, May 31, 1965, in observance of Memorial, Day. No deliveries of mail will be made. and Alencon lace accented with triple organza roses with tiny bows in the back held a threetier veil of English silk. She carried a cascade, cluster of white glamellias and leather leaf ferns. The bridal attendants wore floor-length dresses of pink sheer over taffeta styled with semi-scoop necklines trimmed with chalk beads and pink crystals, above - elbow sleeves, controlled skirts accented at the waistlines with self-fabric bows. Each dress featuied a floating panel topped with self fabric bows. They wore pct al-shaped headpieces which held nose veils. The maid of honor carried a cascade bouquet of pink roses, carnations and ivy. The bridesmaids carried cascades of pink roses, small white carnations and ivy. Floor-length dresses of white dotted Swiss over taffeta with pink sashes were worn by the flower girls who carried baskets of pink roses and white carnations. The bride's momer wore a three-tie reel sheath dress of beige chiffon with mint green and beige accessories. The bridegroom's mother chose a cocoabrown lace sheath dress with bone f^ceasories. Both wore corsages of white roses and pink rosebuds. The reception Was neid In the church social rooms. After a trip to the Smoky Mountains, the couple will be at home May 21 tn South Bend. Both are graduates of North Liberty High School.

Walkerton Plans Memorial Day Observance Give "One Hour” of your t me to those that gave their life. Memorial Day Ceremones are to follow the annual Legi< n Parade at Woodlawn Cemetery. All participants in the parade will meet at the high school parking lot at 10 a m. Monday morning. The parade will be composed of the following groups in thia order: . Fire Department jeep Walkerton High School band Legion Color Guard Legion Firing Squad Legion Auxiliary Unit Legion Auxiliary Float Brownies Girl Scouts Cub Scouts Boy Scouts Little League Decorated floats or bikes Legion Ambulance The ceremony it the cemetery will be conducted by thu Legion Chaplain and Rev. Eder with the Legion District Chaplain as an honored guest. "Flanders Field" will be presented by E>onna Smith and the "Gettysburg Address” will be given by Wally Johnson. Remember, it is more important than ever that this year everyone participate in this Memorial Service, not only for those who died in the past, but for our American fighting men who are giving their lives for us each day. It is our Christian and Patriotic privilege to make this the biggest Memorial Day program that Walkerton has ever had. The Legion asks that everyone give one hour of their time for those that gave the rest of their life. Little League To Sell Schedules Saturday The Walkerton Little League wil| be canvassing the town on Saturday. May 29 with schedules and rosters of the teams for this year. The cardboard schedules are one of the main financial resources for the Little League expenses and it is hoped that the contributions will be generous Watch for the L It’.? Michigan City, who did such splendid work in cleaning up the debris following the tornado disaster of April, have returned to the lake this Tuesday to make final clean up of the grounds in lake area and the farms adjacent to the lake that still have debriv The ladies of the Conservation Club have arranged to serve them dinner daily in their club house until this work is completed.
