Mr. and Mrs. Clem Mamerow attended the funeral of Ray Tritch at Angola Sunday. Mrs Fred Keller and Mrs. Nellie Baughman called on Mr. and Mrs. Gracen Houser Saturday afternoon. । Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Snyder were Mr. and Mrs. Ben Courthouse of South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hughes and family of Melrose Park, Illinois, were Sunday guests of Mrs. Florence Holderbaum and sons. Mrs. William Shields of Mishawaka. Mrs. John Oberly of Wyatt and Mrs. Clem Mamerow visited Mrs. William Heck at Tippecanoe Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Balsley and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Balsley and Tanya, were Sunday guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Schlarb and family. I Sunday visitors in the Del Pearse home were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Miller and daughters of Crown Point, Mrs. Franchon Goodale of Elkhart, Mrs. Robert Homan and grandsons, Mrs. Alma Van Winkle and Mrs. Mabel Worker. Claude McEndarfer,, of Rt. 2, North Liberty, miraculously escaped serious injury Thursday when a tank he was welding for liquid fertilizer exploded and landed over the large bankbarn and silo on his farm. The impact broke his fingers and the wrist of his left arm. He is no|w confined in the Memorial hospital, Room 448, South Bend. L. {BRIDAL SHOWER Miss Judy Clark was guest of honor at a bridal shower Tuesday evening. April 27, in the Robert Balsley home with the Misses Donna Mathewson and Darlene Alsop as co-hostesses. Judy was presented with a white carnation corsage and received many lovely gifts from the seventeen guests present from South Bend, LaPaz, Walkerton and North Liberty. Refreshments were served from B table centered with pink, lavender and blue flowers, the colors Chosen by the bride whose wedfling to Danny Holland of Walkerton will take place May 16.

Mr. and Mrs. Warren Houser have been called to Lxiuisville, Kentucky, due to the death Monday of Garland Jackson. The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with burial also at Louisville. DUTCHERS CELEBRATE 58TH ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. William Dutcher of North Liberty celebrated their 58th anniversary May 4 th. The Dutchers have five children, all living. 21 grandcihldren, 51 greatgrandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren. A family dinner in their honor was held in their home Sunday, May 2. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Donald Dutcher and Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Dutcher of Huntington, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Espick and John of Plymouth, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Tribbey Jr., and children, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Myers and Judy, and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Claxton of Mishawaka. Also Mr. and Mrs. Keith Dutcher and Melinda of LaPorte. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Tribbey Sr. and Nace of Lakeville, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Emmons of Bestlaine, 111., Mr. and Mrs. Steve Clark and family, and Pamela and David Dutcher of Walkerton. They received many lovely gifts and cards.

April 23, Troop 351 from First Brethren Church In South Bend, with Kenneth Tyson as Scout Master, set up their
tents for a week end camp out. About twenty made up the group. Their campfire program lasted far into the night. A cover of rain and heavy thunder shqwers kept them awake much of the night. Much of the time was spent hiking on the trails, learning signals. the Morris Code, how to survive out of doors, and some of the meals were composed of dandelions and water cress. This is all part of their training in get> ting ready for their Scout-O. Rama. Saturday evening, they slept in the hall as their sleeping bags were drenched from the night before. Sunday morning, they had their Sunday School. After din. ner, as they were packing to go home, you could hear some of the boys saying, “do we have to leave already?” Use Your Turn Signals Always
