Darkness is not alone that period between sunrise and sunset. Those who turn away from God live in a dark world, a world which may be filled with doubt and suspicion. When we believe in God, faith brings the world into a new light and, with faith, we can sec things in perspective. If we have faith, we recognize the goodness of God and we believe there is good as well as evil in the world about us. If we walk in the light of God’s grace, there is little room for anger and bitterness; there is instead a joy of living, and an inner urge to meet the world with a smile and a helping hand.
