Freeman - Branrr Wedding vows were exchanged Saturday. December 19. by Miss Shirley Am Freeman and Larry Dean Braner, in the Tyner Evangelical United Brethren Church. Rev. Kay e Caster^ne performed the ceremony. Rev. John Davis of Roanoke, Ind., vocalist, and Miss Mary Lee Loucks, organist, of Manchester College, provided the music in the church which was decorated with candelabra, two white flocked Christmas trees With red bulbs Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Roy H. Liberty was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Jim Kinney and Mrs. Gary Fieeman, both of Walkcrtm, the latter, sister-in-law of the bnde; Mrs. Duane Freeman, North Liberty another sister-in-law. Thomas Miller, of Burnettsville, Ind., was best man Seating the guests were Richard Berglund. Thomas Biggins and WiHiam Norns, all of Plymouth; and Victor Pellico. of Rensselaer. The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a gown of satin peau and hand-clipped Chantilly lace styled with long, tapeied sleeves, modified scoop neckline, basque bodice and a bouffant sheath with a full chapel tram.
A self-bow highlighted the back waistline. She wore a matching pillbox appliqued with jeweled lac* which held a bubble circular face veil of silk illusion. She carried a long cascade bouquet of white roses and |M>mj>ons on a white Bible. The bridal attendants wore floor-length dresses of red velvet styled with sccop necklines and beli-shaiM’d skirts. Each wore a mir..ature pillbox hat of white fur. They carried white fur muffs accented with sprigs of holly. The brides mother wore a dress of pale aqua matelaaae trimmed with satin. The bridegroom s mother wore a deep turqu< ise dress. Each wore black and white accessories and each wore a corsage of white roses and j.ompor.s accented with silver Christmas rilibon. The reception was held in the church social noma. After a trip to Indianapolis, the couple will mako their home Dec. 22 ir. Teegarden, Ind The bnde is a graduate of North Liberty High Sc ho 1, and the bridegroom of Tyner High S hool “Candy Canes” Is Theme For B 1’ & W Club "Candy Canes" was the theme UM«d at the meeting of the Walkerton Business and Professional Women s Club Thursday evening, Dec. 17. at the Town Club. The dining tables were gaily decorated with icd and white paper festoons. Each place was marked by a tiny candy cane tied to a sprig of pine with red bows. An unusual homemade cookie tree on a styiofoam base, made by Mrs. Robert Flaugher. centered the officers' table and was received by Mrs Richard Masterman as the door prize. New officers elected to be installed at the January’ meeting are: Mrs Newton Williams, president; Mrs Harold Shenks, vice president. Mrs Jack Rizek. secretary. and Mrs. Sara Williams, treasure!. A jolly Santa Claus came to deliver secret pal exchange gifts. His voice was much weaker than we usually expect a "Ho H<> Ho" to be. but we are sure that Mrs. Charles Wooley can offer an explanation. Bunco was played by the group with prizes going to Mrs Dwayne Pavey. Mrs Elsie Johnson. Betty Godfrey. Mrs Richard Masterman. Mrs. Jack Hannagen and Mrs. George Ferverda All prizes were cane decorations. Guests introduced were Miss Mary Ellen Johnson. South Bend; Miss Cathy Schell. Mrs Robert Lidy. Mrs Claude Watkina. The president, Mrs. Robert Flaugher, named an auditing committee, Mrs. Elsie Johnson, Mrs. Stanley Hostetter and Mrs. Ken Gillies. Happy Birthday was sung to Miss Sharon Garab, Mrs. Kenneth Klinedinst, Mrs. A. J. Kennedy and Mrs. Lucille Ward. Singing Christmas carols with Mrs. Giace Atwood at the piano, closed the meeting. Hostesses were Mrs. Flaugher, Mr. John Garab Sr.. Mrs. John Crambert. Mrs. Jacie Radmacher. Mra. Bryce Rohrer and Mrs. Wayne Cover. Good habits are your servant bad habits your master.
