OES Honors Master Masons Master Masons of Walkerton F. & A.M. Lodge No. 619, were honored as special guests Tuesday evening, during the meeting of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 319. Following the ritualistic opening, Orville Klinedinst, worshipful master of the lodge, was escorted behind the altar and greeted by worthy matron. Mrs. Alfred Drews, then seated in the east where he was introduced by Mr. Drews. Mrs. Drews read a poem to all the male guests present. Bill Bierty. Senior Deacon in the local DeMolay Chapter, was introduced and gave a talk on *’What America Means To Me." His definition of being a good American and some personal experiences, gave his listeners a most inspiring promise that many young Americans are pre(paring for leadership in important roles in the service of America. Mm. Kenneth Klinedinst. soloist, sang "Dear Lord, Kind Lord’’ for (he guests. Mr. Klinedinst gave an interesting history of free masonry, revealing its origination in England as early as 1390. Has Large Attendance At Recent Meeting The WaJlkerton PTA met last Thursday evening at the Elementary School Building. Mrs. Casimer Stasko, president, welcomed the audience and expressed appreciation for the very large attendance. The grade school faculty was introduced and were presented corsages and boutonnieres by the room mothers aa a token of appreciation and in remembrance of Education Week. A report was given on the recent fish fry. Charles Gorsline re(ported on the progress of the Adult Recreation program and urged more participation. Mrs. Harold Knowlton reported on a health meeting she attended. The grade and high school basketball teams and cheer leaders were introduced by the coaches. Mrs. Burnside and her third grade pupils, demonstrated the use of Phonics in the school. Music, with a Thanksgiving theme, was presented by the 6th and 7th grade chorus, directed by Mrs. George Robinson, accompanied by Mrs William Carter. Open house was held at the close of the meeting. Refreshments were .served by the 10th and 12th grade room mothers.

Business Women Enjoy November Meeting A delicious Thanksgiving dinner served by Heils Restaurant, was enjoyed by 45 members of the Business and Professional Women s Club Thursday evening at the Town Club. The tables were decorated in the holiday decor with pretty Puritan Maldens in costume down the center. Table grace was given by Mrs. Eugene Hewitt. During the business meeting, Mrs. Robert Flaugher, president, named a nominating committee; Mrs. Bertha Urbin, Mrs. William Zahrt and Mrs. Paul Jones. It was reported that a new shipment of pecan meats have arrived. to be sold by members. A $lO contribution was made to the St. Joseph County TB Association.
