Mr and Mrs. Raymond Beagles and Sally and Mr and Mrs. Roy Miller were Sunday dinner guests of Mr and Mrs. Alvin Conner and family of Mulberry. James Wolf of Rossville and Roger Hel- ] nga of West Lafay tte. were also guests. The EUB Y mtb Fellowship held a hayride and cookout on Friday. October 16. a Stuntz Pine Forest. Thirteen guests attended, along vith four adult chaperones Mr. Stuntz drove the tractor for the group. The wagon followed various roads thru the forest and passed near an Indian burial ground. However, none of the group reportd seeing ghosts. f WALKERTON GIRL IN BALL STATE BAND Eight St. Joseph County students are members of Ball State Teachers College Show Band which plays at all home football games and is making several ap-peaj-ances in the state this fall. The group was honored recently by being invited to play during President Lyndon B Johnson's visit to Indianapolis. They sat lehind the President or> a platform constructed on Monument Circle The Show Band is one of five Ball State bands. It consists of 120 playing members, a drum major, two twirlers and a 16 member Cardette corps. Included in the band is Ruth Frai’ev alto saxophonist, daughter of Mr. and ?irs. Leland Frailev. Mr. aixl Mrs. Duane Freeman of near North Liberty, and Mr. and Mrs Gary Freeman and son spent Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Freeman. Mrs. Warner Clark and Mrs. Cloyd Smith attended the funeral of Morl Amm last Thursday in South Bend. His wife was formerly Mrs. Kenneth Hagerty of Walkerton. Mr. and Mi-s. Glen Stillson and Mrs Glen Stillson Sr., left this week for Clearwater. Florida to be guests of Mr and Mrs Wade Stillson for the week. Mrs. Stillson Sr. will remain for a longer time. Mrs Duane Freeman was hostess to a group of ladies at a Copper Party in the home of Mrs. Roy Freeman Tuesday evening. Arthur DeMyer ami Craig. Bill Bierly and Gary Richey attended High School Day at Indiana Central College in Indianapolis last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Agnew Ludwig attended homecoming at Indiana State College. Tene Haute last Saturday, and also attended a football game between Ball State Teachers College and Indiana State. On Sunday they were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Howard and family in New Castle. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Delaney of West Lafayette, spent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Knowlton and family. Other guests for Sunday dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Knowlton and daughters, of North Liberty. Mrs. Neta Lute. Linda and Vicki, and Mrs. Dora Knowlton. Evening Star Rebekah Lodge No. 465 will hold their regular meeting Tuesday night. October 27. which will be Friendship night. Members of District 3 lodges will fill the stations at this meeting. STORK SHOWER Mrs Duane Freeman and Miss Shirley Freeman were hostesses for a baby shower Tuesday < vening for Eric Dean Freeman, son of Mr and Mrs Guy Freeman. Rt. 2. Walkerton. The shower was held in the home of Mrs. Roy Freeman Walkerton Trail. Eric received maw lovely gifts from the twenty-six guests present.

Community Club Forty-five members and guests were present last Friday astern > n for the Women's Community Ch.b meeting \vhen they met in th< St. Patricks School Hall. Mrs. Albert Wohlgemuth and Mrs. Janies Morrey served cookies. coffee and mints prior to the meeting.
