Ing in her wheel chair. Mrs. Smith is 92 years old and served the chapter as their worthy matron in 1923. She is a fifty year meinher. Other 50 year members present were Mrs Anna Bose. Mrs Lorene Rector. Mrs. Margaret Purdy, and Mrs. Gus Verkier. Mrs. Drew’s greeted the members and introduced four guests from other chapters: Mrs. Julia Turner, Indianapolis; Mrs. Byrd Smith, a member of an Alabama chapter, now residing on Rt. 3. Walkerton; Mrs Barbara Ferguson, a member of Walton chapter now residing in Walkerton; and Mrs. Grace Evans, of Hammond, and a summer resident of Koontz Lake.
Two clocks were in the chapter room and were used when Mis. John Peterson and Mrs. Robert King presented a skit, "The Past and Future Meet " depicting the need for all past matrons and patrons, the dependence placed on their judgment and assistance, plus the proof that the same will l>e received from the future heads of the chapter. The soloist, Mrs William Heim Jr., sang a parody to "Countless Hours.” Mrs. Drews reminisced of some humorous incidents in the life of the local chapter, and other chapters throughout the world. The. chapter room was decorated with pots of white mums. An arrangement of yellow and purple mums was on the East dais. Two of the honored guests, residing out of town, were Mrs. Bette (Savage I Hauge. South Bend, and Mrs. Nelle Ferguson. Lansing. 111. It was voted to serve the Past Masters dinner Thursday, October 13. Mrs Stanley Orcutt and Mrs Minnie Mikesell, will be in charge.
