The Methodist Church of Walkerton is continuing to make prep, arations for its coming Methodist Renewal Mission scheduled for October 18th thru 23rd. The theme of the mission is "Warm Up Your Heart.” The guest minister will be Rev. Warren Otter of the Mishawaka Methodist Church. The Mi.<»sion is being preceded by a series of neighborhood prayer services. Some of the services scheduled for the next few days are as follows: October 13 at the home of Mrs. David Mellin at 10:00 a.m. October 13, at the home of Mrs. Oscar Barney. 10 a m. October 13 at the home of Mrs. Grs Verkier at 2 pm. October 15. at the home of Mrs. Genevieve Dailey. 7:30 p.m. Members and friends of the church in the areas of these services are cordially invited to attend. A 24 hour prayer vigil will precede the mission beginning on October 17 at 9 a.m. to October 18th, 9 am. Youth night for the Mission has been set for Wednesday. E. B. PICNIC ENJOYED | AT STUNTZFOREST The Walkerton E.U.B. Church held their annual picnic Sunday, October 4, at the Stuntz Forest. The congregation met at the enclosed shelter house at 11:15 for the beginning of the Ritual of Holy Communion. The fellowship was continued with a carry-in dinner at noon, after which a large group enjoyed a wagon ride through the forest. Others enjoyed playing games, hiking, and chatting with friends. Mr. and Mrs. Stuntz were very gracious by taking their guests on a tour of their home. At 4:00 p.m. the ritual of Holy Communion was continued by the receiving of the elements. To conclude the most enjoyable day a wiener roast was enjoyed by all. Those attending wish to thank the many people that helped to make this picnic a successful one. METHODWT LAY ME VS DAY The Walkerton Methodist Church will observe Laymen’s Day this Sunday in the 10:35 worship sen-ice. Laymen who will speak on the subject of "Able to Stand” will be Mrs. Maxine Wood and John Wathen. Laymen's Day is a time when the church seeks to recognize the role of laymen in the church and to encourage greater participation on their part. The adult choir will present a special anthem. Also during the worship sen-ice, the officers of both the Junior and Senior MYF groups will be installed. PRFMBYTERIAN SR. HIGH The Senior High Youth Group of the Walkerton Presbyterian church, will meet at 6:00 on Sunday evening for a supper, lesson and fellowship. October 11. All young people from grade 10 thru college age are invited to this meeting if you do not attend another group. ESTHER CIRCLE TO MEET The Esther Circle of the Methodist Church will meet Wednesday. October 14, at 8:00 p.m. at the home of Mrs. John Guttman. Mrs. Clyde Bick will have devotions and Mrs Genevieve Daily will give the lesson.
