Mr. and Mrs. Brenton Rinehart of Orlando, Florida, formerly of LaPorte, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Sunday from 2:30 to 4 :30 in the basement of the First Christian Church in LaPorte. Mr. Rinehart and his wife, the former Hazel Jones, were married Octolier 4, 1901, in Walkerton. Mr. Rinehart is a retired plastering < ontractor, having practiced in LaPorte 47 years before retit ng to Florida. The couple have three children. Normat? Milton and Mrs. Betty Fisher, all of LaPorte. They have five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Friends ar*j relatives are invited to call during the open house. It is requested that gifts be omitted. GIIRL SCOt’TS ELECT OFFICERS Girl Scout troop No. 177 met to organize for the coming year. Officers were elected as follows: Patrol leaders. Mrs. Forest Boone, and co-leader, Mrs Neil Downey A redidication ceremony was held on September 22 It was decided that at our next meeting we will go on an observation hike with the trail marked in advance by Mrs. Downey. School Days For Business Women Forty members of the Walkerton Business and Professional Women’s Club and four pMs met at the Mary Kaj- dining r> in in North Liberty Thursday evening for a smorgasbord dinnei and meeting. Mis. Paul Lauck, gaxe the table hies mg. Guests Introduced were Mrs Russell Lawrence. Gary: Mrs Robert Lidy. Mrs. Laymon Bennett and Mrs. George Robinson, all of Walkerton. Following a breif business meeting, the committee in charge conducted a morning at school, in which time exams were given by the teacher, Mrs. Loucks. After all papers were graded, prizes were awarded to Mrs. Lidy. Mis. Bennett and Mrs. A. J. Kennedy. Each member, on arrival, had been given a large hair bow which added to the School Days theme. Barden of Route 3. Walkerton, is undergoing recruit training at the Naval Training Center, San Diego, Calif. He is learning basic military law. customs and etiquette, seamanship and a basic knowledge of shipboard routine. Also included in the training is extensive military drill, first aid. swimming, water survival tactics and physical fitness.
