Better Homes Demonstration Club Meeting A three part informative lesson on “Entertaining" was given at the meeting of the Better Homes Demonstration Club Monday evening at the Walkerton Town Club. Mrs. Eugene Hewitt explained the obligation of the guest to the hostess, the art of conversation and the reason for the invitation. Mrs. William Carter gave information of etiquette in introductions, using as models Mrs. Hewitt and Mrs. Harry Malsaff. Mrs. Carter gave the secret of remembering names of persons one is introduced to. Mrs. Malstaff concluded the program with ideas on invitations, and how to bo an interesting host and guest. Mrs. Thomas Anspaugh introduced Mrs. Malstaff, who was the runnen up in a recent Homemaker of the Year contest. Mrs. Malstaff gave an interesting resume of her and Mr. Malstaffs visit to Indianapolis an! the State Fair where the Quern was selected. She displayed pictures and news items about the candidates from all part s of Indra. She praised this, the first contest of its kind in Indiana and reported it will be continuer! next year It was amounced that Mrs. Malstaff who is St. Joseph County President of the Home Demonstration Extension Club, has been selected state chairman of CitL Zenshln. She will represent the county at the Citizenship Seminar to be held in Washington. D C. Nov 14 thru the 10 Headquarters will be in the National 1-H Foundation Building in Washington. Home Demonstration Club Meets The Johnson Township Home Demonstration Club met Wednesday September 16, at the community clubhouse. During the meeting, election of officers was held as follows: Mrs. Harold Knowlton, president; Mrs. Ixmoy Smith, vice president; Mrs. Ruth Clark, secretary; Mrs Charles Daube, reporter; Mrs. Kenneth Johnson, song leader; and Mrs. Amos Burly, treasurer. On the nomin a ting committee were Mrs. Glen Anderson, Mrs. Harry Steinke ar.-l Mrs. Clark. Mrs. Johnson led the singing of th' song of the month with Mrs. Harlan Lancaster at the piano.
