Rev. and Mrs. Harold Williams and family attended the State Fair in Indianapolis Monday. Mr and Mrs. James Grimes of Indianapolis were Sunday visitors of their parents. Mr. and Mrs W. P. Cowan. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hostetter and Mr and Mrs. Leonard Beaty enjoyed a tup through southern Indiana over the holiday week end. Rainbow Ice Cream Social Saturday. Sept 12. form noon to 5 pm at Walkerton Town Square. In case of inclement weather, social will be held in the Masonic Temple. Mrs Wayne Burch was called to Chiefland Florida. Sunday, on account of the sudden death of tier mother, Mrs. Dallas Slagle SolhdaV. A Tuesday morning caller at the Walter Scott homo was Rev. Jerry Saltsman of the Christian Church of Peru Rev. Saltsman is the nephew of Mi Scott. Surpri-e guests of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Scott Monday were Mr. ami Mrs William Hughes of Ixigansport: and Miss Carolyn Roush of Huntington Miss Roush returns next week to finish her senior year at Huntington College. A birthday supper was given recently for Mm Wilder Burnside in the home of Mrs. Ed pogodzinski. Other guests were Mr Burnside. Mr. and Mis. Clell Fouts. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Kline. Mrs. Hazel Barden, Ed Pogodzinski and daughter, Gloria. Mrs. Fred Shultz and children returned last Thursday to their home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. after a three weeks visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Masterman and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Shultz Mr. Shultz who accompanied the family here, re{brned home two weeks previous. Mr. and Mrs. William Zimmerjnan will entertain on Saturday evening. Sept. 12. for their famand other guests. A triple occasion will be celebrated honoring the birthdays of their daughters, Cheryl was ten on Sept. 6, and Linda who will be 16 on Sept. 21. and also Mr and Mrs. Zimmerman who will have their 261 h wedding anniversary Sept 20. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Frailey spent Sunday in Valparaiso visiting his mother. Mrs. George Frailey. Mr. and Mrs. Kenton Moon and children of South Bend, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Kennedy. Mr and Mrs. Barry Biederstadt and children of Michigan City, were Labor Day week end guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gale Sherland. Walter Scott, accompanied by his brother. Joseph Scott of North Liberty, were called to I^afayette Sunday to attend the funeral of their uncle, Ira Scott. E. Paul Slick II visited his grandmother Friday. He is living at the YMCA ami attending second year of college at the. Fort Wayne Art School majoring in advertising. Mrs Walter Scott spent Saturday evening and Sunday in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Nuss. Medaryville. She was joined early Sunday by Mrs. Stuart Overmyer and Miss Margary Scott. Mrs M B. Slick had as dinner guests Sunday her niece and nephew. Mr. and Mrs. William Cummings of Rangoon. Burma, where Mr. Cummings is with the United Nations Security Counsel. The Cummings were accompanied by their son. Bruce, and wife, of Purdue University. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Koontz of South Bend were also guests. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Tuttle and family entertained with a surprise birthday party last Sunday in their home, in honor of the birthday of Mr. Tuttle’s mother, Mrs. Clem Tuttle.
