A concert of Religious music will be held Sunday, August 30. it 2:30 pin. in the Walkerton High School Gym. This program vill feature three outstanding religious music artists Rev. .Joe ('hitwood. Professor Dale Hunt and the Ray Overholt Trio. Everyone is urged and invited to attend. Roy Overholt of the Overholt Trio of Battle Creek, Michigan, has written the beautiful song eri titled “Ten Thousand Angels” which is fast becoming one of the top sacred selections in the country today. An outstanding trio, truly dedicated to gospel music. Mr. Overholt was formerly a estem radio and television enter, tainer before his conversion. Rev. Joe Chitwood of Crown Point, Ind., is a truly spiritual Ind dedicated man. He comes irom a long line of gospel singers of Brown County in southern Indiana. Rev. most touching piece of music designed to go to the top in sacred music. Prof. Dale Hunt, of Owosso, Michigan, is one of the most accomplished pianists in the field of sacred music. He holds degrees from several universities and has studied piano under some of the top instructors abroad. He has held many radio positions. A professor of voice and piano at Owosso College, he as well is a fine singer; an outstanding man at the keyboard; head organist of the First Baptist Church in Flushing. Mich. Rainbow News Miss Joy Klampe, Grand Immortality of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls, visited our assembly. We also presented our college girls a small token. They were Jeannie Fry. Carolyn Mann ami Sharon Smith. Miss Marv Carol Tunis received her majority degree. An Ice Cream Social will be held September 12 from noon until 5:00 p m.

Monday evening under Laura Jo Th u nburg and her officers, two candidates were initiated, L ina Waldron and Mary Lancaster. Mrs John McCombs, Mr. and Mrs. Al Drews. Mr. ami Mrs. William Steinwald, Mrs. Ed DeVos, Peggy Ruggles and Pop Lidy were introduced. Refreshments were served from a beautifully decorated table, with a centerpiece of multi - colored snapdragons. Hostesses were Mrs. Dewaine Arney. Mrs. Ralph Six, and Mrs. Ed De Vos. HONORED XT PERSONAL SHOWER Miss Norma Murphy was honorcd with a pu sonal shower Wednesday at the home of her aunt, Mrs Herbert Mantick m LiPoite. Mrs. Michael Murphy of South Bend, was the assisting hostess Miss Murphy was presented with a blue tipped carnation corsage. Several contests were enjoyed with prizes going to Miss Murphy, Mrs. Jack Tiede, Mrs. Bradley Nichols. Mrs. Leon McKesson ami Mrs Richard Murphy. Others attending were Mrs. Leslie Ingram. Mrs. Brooke Bowers, Mrs. Laura Wolfenbarger, Mrs. Eugene Bowers and daughters, Mrs. Elburt Place and Miss Nancy Nichols. Miss Murphy received many lovely gifts which had been placet! on a table with a lovely bride doll centerpiece. Refreshments of assorted cookies. coffee, punch, nuts and mints were served. NEW STVTE TROOPER ASSIGNED TO DI NES PARK Rudy Adams of New Carlisle, has been assigned to Dunes Park after attending the State Police Academy in Bio -mmgton Ind He is a New Carlisle high school graduate ami served as a New Carlisle policeman before entering the Academy He and his wife and three children, reside at 523 Front Street in New Carlisle. Receives Degree At Ball State Among the 810 students receiving degrees from Ball State Teachers College at the August 21 commencement, were three from this area. The comme.icement ceremony was held at 5 p m. on the south terrace of the Arts budding. Dr. Elvis J Stahr Jr., president of Indiana University, gave the commencement address Ijegrees were conferred by President John R. Emens of Ball State.
