Her dress was a short lavender organdy with white accessories. Her headpiece was lavender with white flowers. The groom's mother wore a white two piece brocade with blue accessories. Their corsages were of white carnations. A reception was held following the ceremony in the American I .region Home North Liberty, for 250 guests. A large four-tiered white decorated cake with lavender flowers centered the serving table which was in white with lavender streamers. Another cake in the form of an open Bible was also on the table. The bride is a 1964 graduate of Walkerton high school. The groom is a 1963 graduate of North Liberty high school and is employed with the M. B Drilling Co. of North Liberty. Pony League Team Wins Championship The Walkerton Pony League Team gave a good account of themselves at Rolling Prairie last Tuesday. Thev treated Hudson pretty rough by pounding out 11 hits on their way to an 8-0 victorx*. The second game was a 1-0 thriller over Clinton Tw p In this game, Schrader allowed onlx a scratch single in the 4th inning to spoil his bid for his second consecutive no hitter in the tournament Tliis game saw several fine offensive plays on the part of both teams. Red Sox End League Play The Walkerton Red Sox finished the Mishawaka A League tied for second place as they split a pair of games in. the final week of league play. On Wednesday night they fell to Madison Twp. 5-3 as the opponents pushed across two runs in the top of the seventh for the win. Monday night the Red Sox topped the league champions. Diloretto 5-2 in their final game. On Wednesday. each of the teams scored one run in the first inning and the runs continued to come one at a time until Madison bunched three hits ip the seventh to break the tie and win. Diloretto broke into the scoring column in the fourth as three hits accounted for two runs, but they weir shut out the rest of the way. The Red Sox scored an insurance run in the seventh on a walk to Tiede. a single by Rains and a run scoring single by Sonny Cripe. Bob Urbin pitched the game, allowing four hits, while Rains and Bob Lute each had two hits for the winners. Wish To Start Young Farmers Organization culture Department at the high school is going to start a Young Farmers organization, which will consist of men and their wives (if that is the easel of individuals 1630 who want to get established in farming. They may be presently working at a non-related farm job but in the future want to farm. Or the individuals may now be self employed on the farm. Why do we need this type of program? Fanning is becoming increasingly complicated, and competition is consistently keener in the agricultural area. To solve some of your problems in getting financial bal king, we are having some meetings on farm credit in the near future. If you are interested in this type of program and want to help form a Walkerton Young Farmer’s Chapter, contact Tom Welsh, Agriculture Teacher at the high school.
