Chamber Has Discussions On Three l- cj?ds The August Chm >ber of Com - merce meeting pi yided several very interesting di. c ssions about matters of importance to Walkerton. Out of the meeting, several committees were appointed by the president to look further into three different items. The first matter discussed was the forming of a Credit Bureau for Walkerton through the Chamber of Commerce. After an explanation of what was planned, a discussion and question and answer period proved very interesting. A committee of John Wathen. Bob Davis, Wayne Burch Elliott Frash and Bob Urbin, will draw up a definite plan for this and present it to the group at the next business meeting. It is hoped that this can be worked out and put into operation in the very near future. Another rather lengthy discussion came concerning the dump at the west edge of Walkerton and after considerable comment from many members on this matter, a committee headed by the Rev. Anthony Letko, assisted by Dr Bryce Rohrer and R. N. LaFeber, was appointed to visit a meeting of the Town Board and find out just what can be done about the very bad situation. The matter of a public swimming pool for Walkerton was discussed and the committee of John Zenon. Branson Hiatt and Agnew Ludwig are to look into the many details, collect information pertaining to the method of other town's pools and report at the next meeting. A swimming pool would boa great asset to Walkerton, but is such that careful planning must be put into it before anything can be started. The expense is tremendous and this presents the number one problem for any community. ENGAGED ‘ k k \ f J M K ?. ’Su.
