North Liberty Recreation (Continued from Page 1) The Major League resumed as Joe Fisher pitched a two hit shutout to give the A’s a 4 to 0 victory over the Phillies. Bill Dove got both hits off Fisher. The Athletics had three hits off Dove and Darwin Hostetler. The big blow was by Kevin Hostetler as he lofted a shot over the center field fence in the fourth inning. Fisher and Ibmnie O'Connor hod the other two hits for the A’s. Dennie O'Connor and Frank Ginzer supplied the pitching and scoring power for the Sox. The two pitchers combined to score foul inns plus putting the Phils down in a nifty no-hitter. Bill Albert and Kenny Boss had the other two hits for the Sox. Friday the A’s and the Twins dragged to an 11 to 7 contest with the Twins emerging victorious. Jim Fair had a double and Shelly Patinella and Joe Fisher singles for the losers. Ricky Luke and Bruce Summerfield had two hits each for the Twins. An earlier game with Penn was completed from the 4th inring Thursday nigtit. Penn scored 4 runs in the sth on a walk, error and 3 hits and went on to win 7 to 5. The regular scheduled game was called at the end of six innings with The score tied 4 to 4. This game will be finished when Penn plays at North Liberty. pitching and John Fannin did the catching. There will be a variety of materials to work with in crafts this week. The choices are: reed, cork and ceramic tile. Many useful projects can be made with these materials or a combination of them. Along with the paddle tennis tourney, there will also be a bean bag toss tourney for the children. We will also begin to practice for the girls city-wide track meet which will take place August Bth. Girls must be between the age » of 10 and 15 foi eligibility.
