The winless White Sox went into the top of the last inning with a 9 to 2 lead, but II walks later the Twins canie out of their half of the inning with a 16 to 9 lead The Sox scored 3 more in the bittom of the fifth but it wasn't enough. Seven pitchers w«nt to the mound for the Sox in the 16 to 12 marathon. Barry Hughes and Chris Anderson got the only two hits off the Sox. Frank Ginzer and Bill Albert smashed two hits each as the losers hit safely eight times. Albert smacked a liner over the left center field fence to stimulate the early rampage of the Sox. Helen's Favorite: Brown Sugar Crisps (Makes 30) 1 cup sweetened condensed milk 3 tablespoons brown sugar 3 cups cornflakes Cook sweetened condensed milk in top of double boiler o er boiling water until thick. Remove from fire, add com flakes, mixing thoroughly. Drop from spoon to greased cookie sheet about 1-inch apart. Bake in a moderate (350°F.) oven for 10 to 12 minutes.

USS YORKTOWN — James P. Campbell, seaman, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Campbell of 800 Michigan St., Walkerton. Is a member of the crew of the antisubmarine warfare aircraft carrier USS Yorktown which recently was designated the outstanding ship of her class in the Pacific Fleet. It was the second consecutive year that the Long Beach, California. based carrier has been awarded the Battle Efficiency “E" by the Commander of the Naval Air Force for the Pacific Fleet. 1

Tn addition, Yorktown's Engineering Department has been awarded the "E” for efficiency. Yorktown serves as the hub of an anti-submarine “Hunter-Kill-er” group composed of air, surface and sub-surface units designed to find and destroy the enemy submarines. SAN ANTONIO. Texas — Airman James L. Ryan, son of Mrs. Niley E. Ryan of Rt. 2. Walkerton, has completed the first phase of his Air Force basic military training at Lackland AFB. Tex. Airman Ryan has been selected for technical training as a missile electronic specialist at an Air Training Command (ATCi School at Lowry AFB. Colo. His new unit is part of the vast ATC system which trains airmen and officers in the diverse skills required by the nation's aerospace force. The airman is a 1962 graduate of Mill Creek high school. SAN ANTONIO. Texas — Airman Terry C. Wickham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver B. Wickham, of 127 Clark Street, Walkerton, has completed the first phase of his Air Force basic military training at Lackland AFB. Tex. Classed as a technii institute, the school gives trainin chiefly in the operation, maintet ance and repair of forty differe: types of electronic equipmen from radio and television sets electronic brains.
