Sokola - Schmits Saturday, June 21, in a 10 am. Ceremony, marriage vows were spoken toy Miss Sandra Ann Sokola and Fred Lee Schmits, in St. Patricks Catholic Church, Walkerton. Rev. Anthony Letko •fficiated. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Aloysius Sokola, North Liberty, and the the late Mr. Sokola. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schmits, of Princeton, Ind., are the parents of the bridegroom. The church was decorated with baskets of pink and white gladioli. Mrs. John Frederick. vocalist, and Mrs. Frank Kramer, organist, provided nuptial music for the

ceremony. Given in marriage by her uncle, John Sokola. of South Bend, the bride wore a gown of white taffeta and Venice lace, featuring a lace mock bolero with Sabrina neckline and short sleeves. The waistline was accented with white taffeta raised to an Empire look. A triple looped bow was attached to the hem of the jacket at the side front. The same effect, enlarged. was repeated in the back to enhance the carriage lines of the cuffed chapel length train of panel shape bordered at the hem with a wide row of lace. The controlled bell-shaped skirt was of lace in the front. A crescent
shape cluster of white organza flowers, scattered with pearls, caught her three-tiered, elbow length, French illusion veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of miniature white chrysanthemums. Miss Elizabeth Ellen Kne ht, North Liberty, was the m id of honor. She carried a Crescent bouquet of baby pink carnations Miss Mary Lou Schmi s. Pt rr cton, sister of the nridegr ni; Miss Louise Sokola. North Liberty, sister of the bride, and Miss Jacqueline Sue Sokola, sister of the bride, were bridesmaids. Don Schmits of Murphysboro, 111., brother of the bridegroom, served as best man and Don Madden, Bloomington; Gerald FJanegan, Bloomington; Thomas Loyal, Plainfteld. Ind.; Robert Bonham, and Michael Kochanowski, North Liberty, were ushers. The bridesmaids wore floor length dresses of tissue taffeta in azalea pink. Bodices of the gowns were plain with semi-scoop necklines. dipping deeply to the back, with short sleeves. The skirts were “A” line with bouffant backs and obi bows, with double panels flowing down to the hemlines. Their headpieces were picture hats of illusion braid with open crowns, encircled with organza blossoms. Flowers were basket.-' of baby pink carnations. The bride’s mother wore a powder blue crepe sheath dress and the bridegroom's mother a blue lace sheath. A wedding dinner was served at noon in St. Patricks School Hall. Walkerton. Rainbow (iirls Initiate Three Candidetes Miss Laura Jo Thornburg conducted her first meeting in her term of Assembly of Rainbow for Girls Tuesday evening. Initiatory degrees were given to three new members, Brenda Thornburg, sister of the worthy advisor Laura Jo, Carol Taylor, and Barbara Metcalf.
