We pray for the sick in every service believing the Lord will heal sick bodies as well as the soul. In the church where all people are welcome. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Herbold were week end guests of their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Scanlon and son, of Chicago. While there, they attended the wedding on Saturday of Miss Maxine Hohman to David Reneker at Saint Faith United Church and the reception which followed in the church parlors. On Sunday they attended another wedding in the same church when Miss Nancy Bristow was united with Howard Duckels, and were at the recepti-m which followed in the church parlors. Mr. and Mrs. James Keyes, of Chicago, were week end guests of Mrs. Bess Turnbull. Mr. and Mrs. William Loepke Sr., were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Cy Harness in Hamlet on Sunday. Mrs. J. Z. Uhlir and daughter. Sally, of Chicago, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Newell for two days. Father's Day was celebrated with Clyde Riggins Sr.. when his daughter and family. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Otto and three children of Merrillville, and his son and family, Mr. andl Mrs. Clyde Riggins Jr. and three children, of Hobart, were present for the occasion. Mr. and Mrs. James McCoy spent Sunday in Warsaw as guests of Mr. McCoy’s brother, Charles E. McCoy. The meeting of the Modern Mothers Home Eonomics Club scheduled for Monday June 22. has been postponed to Monday, June 29th at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. LaVerne Young. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Nelson attended the Golden Wedding Aniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Herbold, Villa Park. 111. It was held in the lombard Community House, Lombard. 111-, Saturday, with over 175 attending. For the occasion, the father of the bride, Frank Schick, 98, sang an appropriate German song in perfect tune to his daughter. Father’s Day guests of Elmer Hartke were his daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Stradtner and children. South Bend, and Mrs. Janet Cook and daughter Kim, of Michigan City. Other guests of Mr. Hartke and his sister. Mrs. Elsie McKay, were Mr. and Mrs. IJoyd Powers. New Carlisle, a sister and brother-in-law. Everyone enjoyed a cook out with chicken barbecued by M^ Hartke. Mr. and Mrs. William Michalski spent the week end in Chicago, as guests of Mr. Michalski’s sister. Miss Alma Michalski. They also attended the same weddings on Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Louis Herbold. Mr. and Mrs. William Witthoft of Chicago, were guests-of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Smith on Monday. , 1

Louis Laita, Zephyrhills. Fla., is spending the summer as guest of Mr. and Mrs. Clare Farnham, his daughter and husband. Mr. and Mrs. William Kuhlwein spent the week end in Chicago, as guests of Mrs. Effie Hawkey. Mrs. Edna Childress has returned home after spending two weeks in Chicago and Markham, 111., with her two daughters and son, and their families. She was accompanied home by Andrew Cox, Sue Summerfield, Mary Cox, Mike Hayes, and her grandson. David Ursetto, of Chicago. Sunday, Mrs. Childress entertained Mr. and Mrs. James Kearney of Hamlet. This week, Barbara Ursetto. a granddaughter, accompanied by her girl friend. Sue Summerfield, will be guests of Mrs. Childress for several days. Mrs. Edna Roughly, of Chicago, was a week end guest of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Brown and daughters. Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Dickinson of Harvey, 111., were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Selkirk. Mrs. Catherine Fries has been confined to her home the past two weeks on account of the shingles. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Walsko and daughter, Debbie, of Whiting, were Sunday guests of Mrs. Bertha Barbarick. Mrs. Hattie Taylor, of Logansport and Mrs Jean Clark and son, Randy, of Chicago, were Friday and Saturday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Barrett. Attending from Koontz Lake were Mr. and Mrs. George Ferverda, Mr. and Mrs. John McCombs and Bill McCombs, and Mr. and Mrs. George Smith. On Tuesday, June 16, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Fry of Hammond, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Evans, attended the commencement at Princeton University in New Jersey when Tom Fry graduated with honors.
