To Honor Couple On Years Os Teaching Service The Testtimonlal Dinner honoring the Alvin W. Clarks, will be held on Friday, May 22, at 6:30 pm. in the North Liberty High School Gym. Several organizations in the community are cooperating to sponsor ithis carry-in dinner. Liberty To Hold Athletic Banquet Monday The North Liberty High S'chool and the Junor high basketball, track and baseball players, managers and cheer leaders, will be honored at a carry-in dinner. The porgram will be held on Monday, May 25, at 6:30 p.m in the high school gym. Alex Wilson, head track coa< h at Notre Dame, will Ibe the prinipal speaker of the evening. Robert Jones, Director of Athletics for ,the South Bend Community School Corporation, will present the Athlete of the Year and the Sportsmanship trophies. In addition to individual awards to the letter winners in the above sports, the following basketball awards will be made: Most Valuable Player. Free Throw Champ, and Honorary Basketball Captain. All fans, parents and patrons are cordially invited to attend. Scouts To Assist Friday In N. L. Poppy Sale On Friday, May 22, the North Liberty Boy Scouts will be ringing the doorbells, selling poppies for the American Legion Unit 365 between 4 and 6 p.m. On Saturday, May 23, Auxiliary and Legion members and Boy Scouts will be selling poppies throughout the town. Saturday evening the Legion Auxiliary are sponsoring a Swiss Steak supper The profits will go to the rehabilitation and child welfare work for the disabled veterans. The supper will be served from 5 to S pm. at the North Lbertiy American Lemon Post Home. Donation, adults $1.25; children 6 to 12 75c; under 6 free.
