North Liberty School Spelling Champs Crowned On April 21. at the regular April meeting of the North Liberty I*TA. the school spelling champions ww crowned for the North Liberty Schools Division championship contests were held in three grade groups. 3rd. Ith and sth grade; 6th. 7th and Bth grade; and a high hool contest. Ribbons were a arded to the finalists by Lhe High School National Honor Society, sponsored by Everett Holmgren. Business Women Club Enjoys Smorgasbord Forty-three membeis of the Walkerton Business and Professional Women's Club enjoyed a smorgasbord at Mary Kay's Restaurant. North Liberty, Thursday night. Tile tables were decorated with vases of greenery with yellow and white hyacinths. The arrangement on the officers' table , was yellow mums and white snapdragons Mrs Willard Baker was introduced as a new member It was voted to give $25.00 for the After Prom Party. Members are asked to get in touch with Mrs. James Reed if they could assist in de -orating the Youth Building for the Prom Party Birthdays honored were those of Linda Huhnke, Mrs. Hazel Barden and Mrs Richard Palmer Mrs. Lucille Ward was awarded the door prize. A purse searching contest was won by Mrs. Newton Williams and Mrs Bess Gindelberger Mrs George Ferverda won anothei contest Hostesses were Mrs .Ta k Rizek. chairman: Mrs John Powell. Walkerton i Rainbow News Miss Carolyn Mann. Worthy Advisor of Walkerton Assembly, Order of Rainbow for Girls, opened the regular meeting of the Assembly Monday evening with a special greeting as the Assembly was celebrating its 15th anniversary. The following honored guests were presented behind the bow and escorted to the East: Mrs. Ewart Farrar, first Mother Advisor; Mrs. Clarence Reid, fifth Mother Advisor, and Mrs. Leonard I Beaty, sixth Mother Advisor. Three of the thirty charter mernJbers were present and honored. They' were Mrs Edgar Cole, the former Jean Beaty; Mrs. Bonnie i New land i Smith, and Mrs. Damaris (Drews) Smith. Past Worthy Advisors present were Mrs. Gerald Houser, Mrs. Cole.
