Time For More Confusion
Once again all the area * around us will he on the same time as Sunday is the tune for those who have been on “Slew •• Time” to catch up to the rest r of the 'tale winch ie.nain<d on „■ “Fast Time" al] winter Indiana ' seems to be a real mixt 1 up state when it comes t“ time as the problem has been kicked • around for year' b t nevri a * satisfactory compronu e has been made on a state-wide . a • - " is. The move started in Ft. Wayne several y< ai back wncn : they be ame the first major city to stay on fast time the year round. Then from year to - year, the breaking point for the fast and slow time' began bouncing around like a Mexican jumping bean and poor old St. Joe County seemed to get caught right in the middle. For years the eastern county line between St. Joseph and Elkhart Counties was the dividing line. Once Marshall County • adopted the fast time and on a couple of occasions Starke County has differed. LaPorte - County has followed the pat-
Voice of the People Open letter to the merhants and private individuals who donate money to operate the Little League teams in Walkerton: When the Little League was first formed in Walkerton, the Koontz Lake youngsters were in-
vited to participate and have done so through the years. This year at least twenty-five boys from the lake will be unable to play because a new faction has taken control of the league. The rules are set up now to absorb any boy from the lake who wants to play ball, into the teams in town. This may take care of a few of the lake boys, but some of the boys will have to hitch hike back and forth to town This will leave small boys being picked up by strangers at night, or even worse, being struck down by an automobile. We at Koontz Lake, always felt we were a part of Walkerton. We would like to play in the Walk-

tern of Chicago all along which is the formula that St. Joseph County used to abide by but since has gone their own way and adopted the neighbor's to the east plan instead of the neighbor s to the west. Indianapolis, our gnat capital has even been on disagreement. Olliual hours and walking hours were two different things. Confusion would come and go bat always with just a gripe here and tiiere it would pass without any major tragedies. Many people in this area want slow time and many more want the year around last time. The state has tried to set a standard but then on occasion turned right around and balked their own set up in the capital. At least for the next six months, everything will be one set up which seems almost too good to believe, only don't forget that the TV schedule will change again between here and Chicago and anyone operating on "Slow” time must move up an hour this Saturday night before retiring.

A Texas man. bragging on the "bigness” of everything in Texas, was surprised when an "Oakie" stepped up and agreed with him saying: "Yes, that’s sure right, everything's sure bjg in Texas! Why. I once knew a Texan who was so big. they couldn’t find a coffin big enough to bury him in when he died!” And what did they do?" asked the surprised Texan. "Well," came the answer, "they just let the air out of him and buried him in a shoebox!'' No man believes half the things he expects his wife to believe.
