Dolph and Mis. Orville Klinedinst; Kitchen. Mrs. Minnie Mike.ell. The chapter served the dinner for the Masonic Father and Son Banquet Friday evening. April 10. and will serve the Scottish Rite ladies night dinner Friday, April 17. Mrs. Earl Smith. Newton Williams and Percy Selkirk donated to the birthday bank. A social hour was enjoyed in the dining room with Mrs. Leonard Beaty. Mrs. Ewart Farrar. Mrs. William Heim and Mrs. Russell Barnes as hosteses. N. L. Junior High Track News The North Liberty Junior High track team split a pair of meets this past week. Mike Newcomer broko the shot put record with a •13'8" put. The old record was 42 ft. 11 inches set by Frank Heim in 1960. Steve Eberly scored 16’4 points, Jerry Kurzhal 13 points and Ronnie Young, 9 points in Liberty's conquest of Greene 6931. Bill Tkindt contributed 11 D points for Greene. Lakeville turned the tables on Liberty by trouncing them 73-27. Hughes, Soure and Heckaman had 14’4, 12’2. and 9' 2 respectively for Lakeville while Eberly was accounting for 13 of Liberty's points. A strong wind prevented Eberly from gaining records of 17‘6’4f in the broad jump find 11.9 in the 100 yard dash. Auxiliary News Saturday, the local American L gion Auxiliary Junior Group v ill be host to the TJhird Distiict Juniors at 1:30 at the Post Home. The Juniors arc a group of girls in age from birth to 18 years who arc daughters or sisters of members of the American Legion. The young girls participate in most of the different programs of the American Legion Auxiliary such as Americanism, Child Welfare, Poppy. Rehabilitation and Foreign Relations. The training received as Junior members prepares them for Senior membership when they reach the age of 18. Juniors from the Third District rrrdddddddllll lluu uuu: hh which includes St. Joseph, LaPortc. Marshall and Elkhart Counties, will be attending this meeting. The young girls will be conducting the entire meeting with Marsha Klopfenstein of Walkerton acting as chairman. Reports of the activities of the year will be given by the different groups. Also special reports that have been assigned to the units. Handicraft which the girls have made during the year will bo on display and judged at this time. Each year a different Pan-Amer-ican country is studied, this year being Ecuador. Dolls in their native costumes and dressed entirely by the Juniors, will also be judged. The winners of both contests will then be entered in the Department contest which will be at the Department Convention in August. Mrs. Robert Wardman of Walkerton is the District Junior Activities Chairman who is in charge of the arrangements. Assisting her is Mrs Thomas Anspaugh, the Junior Activities chairman from the Walkerton unit.
