Style Show And Card Party At St. Pats Tonight “Autumn Fashions" by Wards, will be the theme of the St. Patrick Womens Club Style Show and card party Thursday night at the School Hall. Beginning promptly at 7:30 p.m., tickets will be available at the door. The newest colors for fall will feature one scene, followed by styles in fake fur, back to school, Ski and leisure outfits, suede clothes, a mohair garment scene, genuine fur trim coats, smart rain wear, afternoon frocks and glamorous after five gowns, concluded with the bridal scene. The faanion snow will be followed by a choice of cards with a prize for each table and many table favors at each place setting Refreshments will be served and door prizes awarded, including a lovely robe presented by Montgomery Wards of LaPorte, presenting the show. Mrs. John Garab Jr is general chairman. Modeling will be Laura Kay Malstaff. Dennis Van Wanzeole.. David Garab and Ginny DeSimone in children’s wear. The Misses Elaii.e Knowlton and Donna Harness will be the teen models and adult models include Mrs. Richard Brice. Mrs. Errol Van Buskirk. Mrs. Martin Jaeger, Mrs Hamid Muncie. Mrs. Harry Malstaff and Mrs. Don Wray Boys Enrollment Open This Week In Lincoln Twp. Enrollment in the Lincolnettes Boys’ 4-H Club of Lincoln Township is being conducted this week, according to Harold Matteson, Boys 4-H leader Advance enrollment proved most successful last year with 100 per cent completion. Boys or girls must be ten years old in 1964 to sign up The deadline has been set for Sept. 30 for cards to be filled out. l oppy Window Wins Again In State Department reports were heai I by the members of the American lagion Auxiliary Thursday at their meeting at the Post Hom \ Mis. John Groves and Mrs. Ruth Clark attended the recent convention at Fiench Ln k where it was learned that the Poppy Window from Walkerton took first place in the state again laist year the Poppy Display took first in the District, then the state, ami finally the nation The National convention takes place this week at Miami. Florida and it will be learned if Walkerton could take two consecutive firsts in the National competition. Newton Williams was fetcd this summer by the Auxiliary as "Mr. Poppy" as he created the winning display. Mrs Harry Malstaff is poppy chairman. Other honors include certificates of citation for 10u per cent membership quota and 94 per cent merit points. Mrs. Emery Flaugher and Mrs. Robert Wardman received cards for obtaining six new members in 1963. Legion Day was announced for Sept. 22. at the Indiana Soldier and Sailor’s Home at Knightstown. Ind. The president. Mrs. Groves, appointed the following committee to make plans to remodel the Auxiliary kitchen. Resides herself, Mrs. Emery Flaugher. Chairman: Mrs. Wardman and Mrs Linder Schmeltz. Anyone wishing to attend the District meeting at Nappanee September IS should call Mrs Groves. Mrs. Jennie Gillette was in charg of the program whi< h was in honor of the Gold Star Mothers. She introduced Mrs Josephine Casey, Knox; Mrs. Vera Seitz Mrs Gladys Tener.
