Athletic Boosters Plan Several Projects A nu -ting of the Walkertun Athletic Boosters was held last w< ek and several important items were discuss- -d The group met in the Elementary School with a slightly better turnout than has been coming, but still a lot of empty seam were available for monos the members. One item discussed was the information and plans made to date to move the Little League Rall Diamond to a place that would be safer than the pres-.-nt location right on Washington Street. The group that attended the June meeting looked over the possi* bilities of moving the diamond to the field near the water tower and action was started along this line. Some leveling and seeding will have to be done within the next few w«*ks to get an '-ally start for play on the park next year

Tn regards to the high school program for Walkeiton, the lioovters did ag!»-c to purchase 24 pans of white fix tball pants for the present team and they ar - to be here and ready for use in the Finlay op-tier at North Judson. The Boosters are planning a refreshment stand of sandwiches, probably mainly hot dogs, and coffee at the home football gam -s with possibly a larger assortment for tha homecoming game this year. Harold Matteson, hcau of the FEA at Walkerton High School, dn-rmsed what plans have been m ide to date for the homecoming and th • B w-sters again agreed to r<M>peratc in any way. There will be a parade again this year in which all the clubs and organizations are urged to enter a float The Boosters will also sponsor the window decorating contest for this week as the homreoming program will be nm the week of October 14 to with the homecoming game on Friday, October 18, with Jimtown as the opponents The parade and festivities preceding the game will b? held on Thursday night The membership drive is now under way with Arthur Benron as gem>ral chairman.
