WALKE RT O N WILI, IIE much improved this season Aftei a very slow .start in varsity ball last year, the Indians cam along nicely through the sea-on with a better turnout of players as the year progressed. They ar* anti cipating a turnout of at least twice as many as they started with last year. Also, the boys who are returning have to learn late as no Junior High school program gives them any advance training before entering high school. tThere will be several boys missed from last year’s team also, more than North Liberty, but the losses won’t be prohibitive yet this sea son. Also, with one of the Smith Bend TV stations carrying high school games on TV. it give; more an opportunity to watch pood battles from School Field BOTH FOOTBALL TEAMS OF North Liberty and Walkerton ar* backed good by the respective boosters clubs. These organiza tions, along with the Walkerton Lior.s Club wtio purchased the i.r t equipment in Walkerton, have aided in this program where * hools are limited Everyone is wekoir - to become an active put of these two clubs in the respec live towns and assist in their work All this is to encourage mor 1 to participate in sports while at the teen age. something that is good for all studeats.
