With one out Tiede scored on a for< cd play at second, Robinson walked and Bob Northam singled home Urbin to cut the lead to 5-4. A change of pitchers was made anil the next batter struck out to end the rally. The Red Sox had two more chances and in the sixth, a walk and a stolen base put Fox on second, but they couldn’t get him home In the seventh. Cripe was hit when his soft liner towards right was pulled in. L’rbin doubled and Robinson walked again, but Cy DeVleager got the last two men to end the game. The R<sl Sox left nine men on base in this game. Chuck Fox was the losing pitcher even though he pitched a steady ball game with just the one bad inning. Bob Braclik started for McKinley, but couldn’t get past the fifth inning. K< d Sox In Tourney The Red Sox arc in a double elimination tourney starting Thursday in Mishawaka and plan for two more including an eight team double elimination for Walkerton in a couple of weeks. the local diamond. split with PRcr The Walkerton Red Sox split two games with last year's state runner-up, PRCU of LaPorte. Tuesday night as they topped the visitors 4-1 in the first game •and dropped the second 2-0. PRCU next week end will host this year's state tourney at Lions Field in LaPorte. The first game Chuck Fox pitch'd a 3-hitter and the Red Sox broke a 1-1 tie in the fifth inning for the win. Sonny Cripe opened the fifth with a base hi* and took third on a throwing error on John South’s attempted wurifiee bunt. With runners on second and third. Jim Ridenour bounced one that got away from the third baseman as one run crossed the plate. Bob Urbin bunted and everyone was safe with run number two of the inning scoring. A forceout at second and another bad throw at first let Ridenour come home with the third run of the inning that iced up the game 4-1. In the second contest, called by agreement after five innings, due to the cold, windy weather. Car) McNulty, one of the state’s top I hurlers. pitched five innings of perfect ball in blanking the Red
