Lincolnettes 4-H The Lincolnettes 4-H Club and their guests enjoyed themselves at a skating party held at Plymouth on June 25. Drivers tor tho occasion were Mrs. Lawrence Pontius, Mrs. Bernard Westhues, Mrs. Ed Lazarek, Mrs. Marvin Williams, Mrs. Newton Mann, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Boone, Miss Barbara Lidy, Miss Janiece Helm and Chuck Creech. The next oig event is me County Junior Demonstration Contest at Marshall School in South Bend on July 8. This is open to anyone ten years old thru the eighth grade. The Senior Demonstration contest will be held July 15. Participants will be notified as to timo of leaving for both contests. The County Senior Judging con-

G rovertown Boy Receives Special Religious Award TT ** ""V ' ~ “ AL* 1 George King, 15, First Class Scout in Troop 37, Grovertown, received the God and Country religious award at the morning worship service of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Donaldson, Sunday, June 30. The presentation was made by O. J. Runyan, of Michigan City, Potawattomie Council District Scout Executive, assisted by Scoutmaster L. M. Thornburg, and the minister, Rev. James McGee. Requirements for the award include 150 hours of service to the church in thiee categories. George made an extensive study of the catechism and history of the church, and made a tract rack for the church literature. George, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert King of route 1, Walkerton, presented his mother with a miniature lapel pin, a replica of his award. The 21st annual reunion of the Finch-Reamer families was held in Liberty Park last Suncdiy, June 30. Ovi r foity members gathered to enjoy a bountiful pot luck dinner and participate in the various games and general visitation. Awards were made to Mrs. Elma Jane Wathen of Manitou iSprings. Colorado, for traveling the longest distance; Earl R. Eldred, North Liberty, for being the oldest member present, and to Kathy Huffer, Westmont. 111., for being the youngest member in attendance. During the business session, Emmett Clarke of Chicago, was reelected president. Robert Clarke of Chicago, and Wayne Smith of Clarendon Hills, UL, were elected vice president and secretary-treas-urer. respectively. The next reunion will be held the last Sunday in June 1964 at the same place. VERKLER REUNION The Verkier reunion was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Verkier on Sunday, June 30, with 75 guests present from Madison, Wisconsin; Detroit, Michigan: Chicago and Suburbs. Elgin, and Kankakee, Illinois; South Bend. LaPorte and Walkerton. Richard Verkier is president of the group and Mrs. Harry Mosher of Chicago is secretary. ROY SCOUTS, AT ( AMP Boy Scouts from Walkerton and North Liberty are now enjoying a week’s stay at Camp Tamarack, Wood Lake Scout Reservation. where they can take riflery, archery, swimming and handicraft. Monday they went on a star hike. A canoe trip is planned for Friday and they will return home Saturday. t
