Attend State Meeting Os FHA Mary Smid, Palsy and Sue Brown. and Janiece Helm, FHA Advisor of Walkerton, attended the seventeenth annual state meeting of the Indiana Association of Future Homemakers of America as delegates of Walkerton Chapter. They were among 900 teenagers md adult advisors who attended the twoday meeting on June 13 and 14 on the campus of Indiana State College at Terre Haute. Miss Jane Johnson is the State FHA Advisor. Visitors were being shown around the battleship that had just arrived in port. Lincoln Twp. 4-H’ers Enjoy Hayride The combined Lincoln Township 4-H clubs enjoyed a hayride Tuesday, June 11, at Stuntz Pine Forest. After the hayride, everyone gathered around a bonfire and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. Wagons for the hayride were furnished by Howard Clingenpeel and Harry Mechling. Linder Schmeltz and Elmer Merkel drove the tractors. Sponsors for the hayrkh* were Miss Janiece Helm, 4-H leader, Mr. and Mrs Elmer Merkel, Mr, and Mrs. Linder Schmeltz and Mrs. Newton Mann There were around sixty members present.
The next event the girls’ club is planning will be a skating party at Plymouth June 25. Tickets may be purchased from MLss Helm or any of the junior leaders There will be a regular meet, ing aiul roll call at 6:00 p.rn. in the Home Economics nx>m. Everyone will leave for Plymouth from the high school parking lot at 6:30 p.m. Skating will be from 7:00 until 10:00 p.m. ICE CREAM DATE The Youth Fellowship of the North Liberty Methodist Church will have an ice cream social at the church parking lot on Friday, July 19, from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. They will feature sandwiches, ke cream and cake.
