N. L. OES News At tha recent meeting of the North Liberty Chapter 290, 0.E.5., Mrs. Ernest Klein, worthy matron. greeted the members with a poem of welcome. Following the business, an impressive memorial service wag presented by Mrs. Klein, Mrs. Dale Trobaugh, associate matron. Mrs. Audrey Franklin as Adah, Mrs. Althea Snyder as Ruth. Mrs. Dorothy Fisher as Esther; Mrs Olive Hunt as Martha; Mrs Peggy Bellinger as Electa, and Mrs. Kathryn Hevel as chaplain. Mix together L cup cocoa, 5 tablespoons melted butter. 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 6 tablespoons sugar. Spread on hot crisp toast. To give a deviled ham sandwich ■ added dash, combine one 2*4 or can deviled ham with ' j cup cottage cheese, 1 teaspoon minced onion and 2 teaspoons pickle relish. Extra good on rye bread, Helen’s Favorite: Beef and Sour Cream Hungarian •s cup butter 2 pounds beef round or chuck, cut into ’z inch cubep 1 cup chopped onion '> teaspoon salt 'j teaspoon pepper L clove garlic, minced L cup water 2 cups dairy sour cream Melt butter in frying pan over low heat. Add beef and onions; brown slowly. Add salt, pepper, garlic and water, (over tightly and simmer over low heat for one hour or until meat is tend er. If needed, additional water may be added during cooking, L cup at a time. When tender stir in sour cream and heat, but do not boil, stirring constantly. Makes 6 servings. Ice cream sandwiches may he made by putting a generous spoonful of ice cream between two large plain butter cookies. As a dessert, top with additional ice cream and nuts or hot chocolate sauce A creamy biend of cup chilled buttermilk with . cup ve ctabletomato juice ”iakes a refreshing beverage—ide.
