L Chorus / To Present Musical Comedy "Check Your Worries”, the musical comedy hit especially written for high school production, will be staged in the auditorium of North Liberty High Si ho I on Friday, May 17, at 8:00 p m. The production will be direi ted by M: David Spellman, and will feature members of hhe High School Chorus on the stage in th<‘ dramatic and singing roles. Milton Porter will direct the band. With songs by Al Davis and Al Polhamus. and the book and lyrics by Mel Weiser. "Check Your Worries" is a fre h, lively, and enormously pleasing musical that has been a hit from coast to coast. The "Do Away With Founder’s Day’ movement is the brainchild of the high school newspaper editor who took tho advice of the town s leading publisher to "find things to criticize where no one else looks.” The advice boomerangs, however, for the publishers ancestor is tho honored symbol of the Founder’s Day celebration. As more and more adults support the students, the battle lines become clearly drawn. All ends happily, of course, but not before a host of humorous situations have been developed to the delight of everyone. Dr. John J. Hardy Honored At Dinner

Dr John J Hardy, a North Liberty doctor for 15 years and one who has practiced medicine for 54 year . was honored by his । friend, at a testimonial dinner Saturday night. A crowd of ap- 1 proximately 335 persons attended 1 the affair held at the North Liberty Elementary School gym. Dale Trobaugh, master of ceremonies for the event, told some ' of Dr. Hardy’s life, pointing out that his entire life had been sp-nt close to North Liberty. He was born on New Road about eight miles from his present home and he graduated from Likeviile high school. Ho continued his education after high school with the Chicago Colleg • of Medicine, now L>y< la University, being the final schooling m medicine in 1909. Dr. Hardy practiced at LaPaz from this time until 1913 and ’i at Plymouth until he served in the United States Navy in 1917. After the service, he camp to , North Liberty and has spent the

DeVc chairman of the committee who organized this testimonial dinner presented Dr, Hardy with a plaque and certificate from the people of the North Liberty area "For Many Years Os Duty To Your Patients." He also received a plaque from the St. Joseph County Medical Society, with Dr. Sherman L Egan, president of the County Medical Society. Along with the awaidmentioned above, Dr. Hardy received a "shovel full of cigar ” Dr Liuis How, director of the County Health Department, was the principal speaker of the evening and cited Dr. Hardy as an example of both the old time physician with the old tin. • p j tient ndation hip, and the mo- ■ d-i n, scientific physi ian. of ceremonies read several letters from friends and 'ormer patients of Dr. Hardy's who were unable to attend the dinner, usually tnan e of the miles concerned. The good doctor said the idea of th Testimonial Dinner came as a surprise 'or him and dated that North Liberty wa a good toon and that he appreciated everything that had ben done for him.
