"This Atomic World" Lecture Program To Be Presented To WHS
A demonstration lecture program, titled “This Atomic World” will be presented in an assembly program at Walkerton-Lmcoln Township High School on May 1 I. The program, sponsored by the United States Atomic Energy Commission, is presented by the Oak Ridge Institute of Nuclear Studies, Oak Ridge, Tenn. ' fl**» w/ » The Institute la a non-profit, educational corporation of 39 southern universities, operating under contract with the Atomic Energy Commission. The traveling exhibits units, which visit hundreds of high schools throughout the United States each year, me designed to provide the public with a better understanding of atomic energy. Harmon Smith, an exhibits manager who has received spe< lai training in nuclear science, will present the program Mr Smith holds a bachelor of s< lence degree from Bowdoin College. The demonstrations and lectures are designed s|xwifi< ally to acquaint high school students with the basic principles and uses of atomic energy and to stimulate their interest in science.
