Wh -ther tins Ls right or n d cannot be ;n 'uaily saui by anyone, hut to say the least, he hasn't been very impressive in his years at Notre Dame since Terr.' Brennan was let out of a job rather unpleas antly a few years ago NOTRE DAME AT ONE TIME might as well have been spelled F o o t b a 11" as it was a leg, nd from the time of the im-
mortal Knute Rockne light down the years This has changed for several tLtb rent reasons. Om is that since the war there has been a tremendous ln< rease In co.lege enrollment. This means more t<»t ball p.ayei and. more ' bidding for the sei i<a s of the top players by ddlerent schools. Notle Dame i -n ' pining all the gcaid Catholic player,-, they u: • d to as an attrai tn c niter at anyo'hi b g college has more pull than th* nana "Notre Dame" ANOTHER REASON IS THAT the treinndous standout team isn t nearly as common dur to the fact that football has entered into th" small high school" and a tiemen dous number of g<x»d player- are coming from areas that one - never had this sport to give to the high school age boys NOTRE DAME STILL RIANS a lot of talent through the sch xd each year, but the problem nov. is to find the man who can get it out of the boys. Coaching is a big par* of the game and Kuharich has proven to all ranks that he is not one of the most wanted i ouches in the game. SKIPPING BRIEFLY TO THE World Series, the Yankees look like a sick ball club. They, in the first four games, haven’t shown much in the way of hustle and talent. It is interesting to note that the Bivnx Bombers, a longball hitting team, has only col leettd one home run and that was hit by the number 8 man in their batting order when they had the first game won. Unless a little

He looks to be the uinteenth on the list of hustle as his play this season and this series is far from sparkling Os course, tremendous pressure was put on him last year, but still a little more outward dgn of team spirit and hustle would look good on him IN THE FIFTH SIXTH AND seventh game, if needed, the Yankees will have to have more of their famoOa power to win The home runs usually fall off then bats like nun, but this year it is a drought. Tliey won't win without more power where the Giants have more to offer in the way <>f aggressiveness ho far in this series. Hqwevcr, as the old
saving goes, don't bet against th • Yankees ad it is still a best two out of three for these boys WinsP.T.A^ Scholarship At Purdue Names of is winners of sehjiarships worth >2OO each, or SIOO per semester, given by the Indiana Congress of Parents and Teachers, were announced today by Di.
