It looks like Walkerton anti North Liberty will operate On fast time this winter as the South Bend and Mishawaka city councils Monday resolved to keep their respective communities on "fast time" for the six months we usually revert to "slow time". The decisions of the two councils were unopposed at their Monday night meetings. This area, always caught in the w^hb between the fast and slow time areas sod the past few years, will probably just watch the boundaries move from one side of the area to the other. As has always been the policy, •ur towns will probably follow the example rtf the South Bend-Mish-awaka area. This is almost a must W’ith us. This will keep us on the same time as New York, hot have us on a different time than the Chicago and Calumet area which •prrates on for six months. The fast time plan this year Will be sort of an experiment. If it is not liked, we can always go bark to six months of fast and six months of slow next year. Regardless of what is set up by the legislature of Indiana, the personal feelings are what results anyway And just thinx, next Decemhei and January you will have that extra hour of sunlight to work in your garden or rake the yard. concerned is that last year many schools that were in areas remaining on fast time felt they should change the opening and closing of schools to have it light in the morning But it is the desire of someone to try this method for a six montl period which we will all do. And, or yes, mother, the kids may ask politely to remain up one additional hour to watch their favorite TV shows which will now he on Eastern Standard Time all winter.
